I refuse to learn how to drive

You are deliberately making the choice to not develop a skill used by most people. You are doing this to avoid responsibility under the guise of aloof contrarianism.
A man who recognizes he cannot drive and throws the keys to someone else has made a moral choice to safeguard the lives of others as an act of responsibility in the face of his failings or weakness. It is these small choices that define us more than anything, and reasonable adults do not avoid being in situations were they need to be made, as long as there is a potential benefit to justify having to make them.

While I think driving is a worthwhile skill, you shouldn't have to learn it if you don't want to. Don't listen to the faggots and be your own special little faggot if that brings you peace.

It'd certainly help for commuting to work and doing regular activities without relying on public transportation. God forbid you live in the middle of nowhere.

I swear every time I give anti car people the benefit of the doubt they always disappoint me. It can't just be a coincidence every time.
I mean, I don’t think OP is serious about the car stuff. I think he’s a brain-damaged and likely underaged attention whore. He is a self-admitted Sharty poster, so that pretty much confirms it.

I think so too, but in case not:

OP, if you live in a big city and want to continue not driving then no big deal. I know people who didn’t get their DLs until they were 30 (if ever). If you do live, or want to live, elsewhere you should probably develop the skill of driving.

I also refuse to drive.

But I'm also on heavy schizo meds and driving on them is considered a crime pretty much everywhere.

Not to mention controlling these contraptions is impossible, you have to constantly rube goldberg around just to get them to move and you make one little mistake and boom, right into a ditch/tree and you're dead or paralyzed for life and have to spend millions in hospital bills. So tldr: Fuck cars.
So you don't know how to drive, but you know they're uncontrollable?

Ride around in a Go Kart then drive home afterwards, it's amazing how easy cars are to control. You really learn to appreciate power steering and soft suspension after that.

Funny thing OP, you actually might know how to drive. Its literally a skill you can learn from video games.

Not joking. First time I ever drove a car I instantly understood how to gear shift, pedal and brake, make turns of the exact width I wanted.... because these were all things I had done in games like Outrun and Mario Kart. The controller was different but the basic concepts were similar. Real life gives you more tangible feedback too, making it even easier.

Defensive driving is twofold. First is defending yourself from yourself. If you do not feel right in a car, do not drive it. Second in that is to be very aware of who is around you on the road and make way for them if they are being crazy. We all have bad days and get behind the wheel of multi ton vehicles. That's just life.

Offensive driving is noticing when someone is doing stupid shit on the road and minimizing risk to you. So say some asshole brake checks for no reason or is obviously intoxicated, you wait for an opportune moment to pass them, run up their ass,
or if really offensive, run them off the road or if you really have to, use physics to bump them off. Some people would say do stupid shit in slow traffic, but you aren't gonna really hurt many there. That's anathema to the non drivers on here, but it's what you have to do to save you and your passengers.

For the record, I'm a mainly defensive sort. Offensive driving is something usually reactive. Be safe out there.

Tl;dr defensive driving is learning to be wary around dipshit drivers and offensive driving is learning how to effectively get around said dipshit drivers safely.
Those both fall under defense driving. Offensive driving is tearing up the mountain roads going at well over legal posted speeds as you blast eurobeat through your speakers.
