If you could have any job

Just for fun? I assume that means we get paid enough for it to not matter what job we take then

I would like to be the owner of a pub+inn in a small-medium size town (maybe near the highway so people can stop there), hire a main bartender and just be an extra hand for rush hours, interact with my customers and listen to their stories

Most of the dream jobs I have would be totally soul sucking. I think this is the case for most of us. Think the big common dreamed jobs. Rock star sports etc you are working non stop. Traveling as well.

If you love something you'd still be willing but in ways I think no matter how much you enjoy something it being a career is different .

That being said I'd still be a race car driver or play baseball for a living.

But more realistic and possible teach economics at a grad level.

This would require me to quit my job of being Taylor Swifts gyno with my side job of moon paleontology.

Heading a Soil Laboratory for an Engineering Faculty

Back in college there was this engineer in charge of the soil lab, and he made it look like a pretty sweet gig. Unlike other labs, his had enough aides to do all the heavy lifting and menial chores (tbf it was almost the only lab with any real heavy lifting).

Most of the work he did (like sieving material or making concrete cylinders) were relatively interesting, and most of the math he did afterwards was pretty easy, some basic algebra here, some trigonometry there. All in all a pretty pleasant job.

I'd like to make a living off of my art doing album art and posters for bands, but in the meantime I need a job that won't leave me starving to death. I could be a dock worker and hang out with crusty old sailors all day who tell stories about the time they fought a giant squid.

Dream: Professional golfer

Realistic dream: Work as a park ranger for the NPS at a historical site (I'm not for that backwoods outdoor shit). The pay is shit, but I'd have access to that sweet government pension teat I talk so much shit about.

Compromise based on my current situation: I've been toying with the idea of getting my Masters in horticulture and trying to land a job teaching at a community college. Teaching some blue collar/stupid kids how to grow plants seems kind of fun, and it beats working in a commercial greenhouse, assuming I don't land a comfy research job in a couple years.
