I feel you. Dead Space 2 is already a pretty much perfect game but I can almost guarantee EA's gonna remake it now that the Dead Space 1 Remake is out when all they'd really need to do is remaster it. Again, it's all likely pretext to set right what once went wrong with 3.Probably. Which just blows my mind because... well maybe my opinion is too narrow. I see two reasons to maybe make a remake:
And it is important to say that the gulf between one and two in that list is huge, miles and miles; furthermore, I give number one a sideways glance as well, but I can deal with it and don't want to be a complete ballbuster.
- The game looks visually bad and/or the UI is outdated to the point where gameplay is bogged down and a few simple modernizations would solve the issues.
- The game is old.
So you can remake games to fix bad controls or visuals that impede gameplay and you can remake games if they are old... I guess. You cannot remake a game to make it good because the original sucked. Just make a new game!
Brominer was neat, but shit. So you make Infiniminer, not Brominer the Return. Infiniminer is better but still shit, so you make Minecraft, not Memories of Infiniminer: codeRED.
And then they never can just make quality of life improvements, can they? Very quickly the content revisions start. Shit, when they re-released (not remade or remastered) Chrono Trigger for mobile phones the dumbfucks found a way to introduce bugs and glitches that were not present in the original or any of the handful of prior re-releases. I see the increase in remakes as directly correlative to the decline in the general quality of games.
In the case of Resident Evil, you can mostly sell me on the new remakes of 2 and 3. All the others either have servicable remakes or in the case of anything from 4 to now, the games are good looking and very playable.
That being said, I was never a big fan of RE5 so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing if they make it fun this time.
