edit- As other users are saying, focus on yourself and self improvement if you want that family and to be selfish. Join the gym, eat a lot better, and maybe do a cycle of steroids to kick start the gains (if your bloodwork looks good and the doctor approves.)

I missed out on the whole classic lolcow era of internet shenanigans. I can only look back at it in a historic educational sense. I can only imagine what it was like to follow Chris Chan in the moment and see other cows in real time as they form, develop, and mess up. So I can't really say much about the death of the lolcow because I never really experienced them. I suppose maybe I'm part of the newfag problem because I don't have any real problems with how things are here. Maybe I'm just ignorant and can't know how great things once were.

From a selfish point of view I don't want this site to go away. I've bounced around various forums and sites trying to find a place and ultimately I just get disillusioned or some shit happens and they fall apart shortly after I join in. This is about the only place left where real discussion can occur and there's some great people behind it all. It feels like what I imagine the internet used to be like before the AOL containment zone broke. If this all ends I don't think there is much left for me on the internet. Maybe that means a more healthy life for me away from screens but I fear having no outlet to see and communicate with people who aren't insane might just make me grow even more disillusioned with society.

On a personal level I can empathize with Josh's feelings here. I'm not too far removed from them myself but I also don't have a big target on my back to complicate things. All I can say is that I hope he can find the happiness and purpose in his life that he needs. Even if he nukes the farms, some people will try their hardest to make sure that can't happen. Whatever happens I hope he can continue to defy them.

as someone who's lurked here for freaking years, I've definitely noticed how it's become less fun overall because of people wanting to make every discussion political. I miss just fucking around and laughing at people. the days of parkourdude and that fucking marjan guy were probably the best imo. everyone was united in humour and absurdity instead of diverting into political slapfights all the time.

with that said, semper fi, Null. I doubt you'll read this with how big this thread is, but I completely understand your frustrations and growing pains. and though I've always been a lurker who never immersed myself in the community too much, I've always been really thankful for it's existence.

you carried the torch for years, man. longer than anyone expected, I think. whatever you decide to do with the site, it's clearly time to carry that torch for yourself.

Anyway, I agree with this. It feels like a lot of peoples' interest in cows in motivated by political vendettas more than entertainment. I think this is why you might find Beauty Parlor more tolerable than the rest of the site: many people in BP are from LCF, GuruGossip, PULL, etc, where people usually post about cows because they enjoy gossip, not because they have an autistic hatred for the cow's political beliefs. Pixyteri and Kailyn are the two biggest female lolcows of yore, and they both became subjects of ridicule because they're gross and weird. It's unfortunate that KF has basically become a tool for "cancelling" now.

Too many retards have come to KF because they feel like it's a safe haven for whatever obscure political belief they have. Hell, I'll even admit to being part of that problem-- though I wasn't opposed to troons when I joined the site, nowadays I certainly have a tendency to use it as "designated tranny shitting forum." Personally, though, I blame LCF for that; they had a robust GC community until trannies whined, causing the admin to ban 90% of troon discussion. If there are more TERFs here now, it's definitely LCF admin's fault.

That said, I think the best you can do to improve the site and make it more lighthearted at this point is to pretty much do the same thing LCF admin did and ban political discussion outside of designated shitting threads. i dont even know how many people would be lolcows without politics nowadays though, alot of even chris tier people know by now to hide at least a good chunk of their behavior now unless its something they get emotional about to the degree of politics or social issues, wont find too awfully many people assaulting people over things like sonic's arms or bad films anymore online. plus my memory might be heavily skewed but my recollection is cows always were mocked for political shit like Chris's outbursts against the gays or j3ws but it was just inoffensive mainstream left or center shit or rebellious to the point of being ineffective and inoffensive libertarian stuff, i dont remember an internet where social or political issues werent a sizable component

also @Null please see about selling this place to the chinese, it would be infinitely humorous to me and you can become a sex tourist sheltered by the great peoples republic of china if things fall through over there your way

cows were mocked for political shit but the trolling/observation was generally apolitical imo. yeah threads would sometimes get taken over by politics, but now it's the norm. you can see it as positive or negative or be neutral to it, all I'm saying is I personally understand where Null is coming from when he says he's not having fun anymore.

where that leaves the site, I have no clue. it's just not the same beast that it was, which happens with everything.

Yeah I get where Null is coming from, I retired last years cause the kiwi shit was getting to me, I cannot bare to experience what my boy has to deal with on a daily basis. I stopped moderating when I turned 25. Once my favorite place to talk about Chrischan, laughing at incels and critizing artcows is now a cacophany of noise. Chris is a sad, autistic transgender manchild approaching his midlife, and all the OG lolcows are dead, boring or removed. It didn't help that politics kept dragging themselves into every seam and channel around 2016 with idiots parroting the same phrases at each other which kept growing like a toothy tumour.

The kiwi culture that was built is now just another rising "Cringe Forum" thanks to the franchising of cringy things. You can see the interest is waning on everyone with only a few are still holding onto saddle of this weary horse. I would not weep much to see KF archived or even deleted.

Remember: Kiwi Farms is a phoenix, she rose, fell and will reborn elsewhere, just like the other multiple forums once dedicated to Chris.

I haven't bothered with traditional forums since before 2010 but this place is actually pretty nice and is a good source of information.
I suppose I don't really have much stake in this since I've only just recently joined, like a lot of others, but I think it would be damn shame if the site just died now.

Your observations for this site are correct but during this time in history, I think it's very important that this site stays up. There's really nowhere else to go to just talk about current events or just sperg out once in a while. Things change. This site might have started as one way but it has evolve to what it is now and in my opinion, it's for the better.

Like you, I'm also very upset that people are for abolishing section 230 but sometimes people need to learn the hard way, unfortunately. You seem to weather the storm of infamy pretty well so far, why stop now? Do you honestly think that certain circles of people, industry professionals in your field and your enemies would just forget about you and your past actions and let you live as a normal person? Probably but I think it would be unlikely.

In the end it's you that has to live your life and deal with the consequences of your choices. If you believe being just another breeder facilitating the biological imperative is important to you then by all means, pursue that. I really like this site and most of what is in it and I would be upset if it has to go. Just know that you are not the only one who thinks freedom of speech is important. I think so too.

Maybe it's just time for a vacation.

I don't think the site will ever become fun again for you, at least not in the same way it used to be. You've changed, the community has changed, times have changed, none of this is reversible.

The site can become an enjoyable job though, while still allowing you to pursue your personal ambitions. Obviously you've got a massive logistical problem in trying to get money from the crowd of people that would gladly give it to you, but it's not impossible.

You can already receive money today via cryptos, but the whole thing is too cumbersome and inconvenient for the average Joe that doesn't already use them (myself included). As you point out, convenience really is at the heart of everything. I think if you solved this problem, a large number of people would gladly give you a few dollars a month, Patreon style.

If it can't be solved, then just move on.
