It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

A Racist Child Abuser Invaded Fallout 76 Last Night
https://www.psu.com/news/a-racist-child-abuser-invaded-fallout-76-last-night/

”Hey!” a voice boomed from my speakers. ” Hey you exceptional individual! You need to make a white man, you hear me? A. White. Man.”

I sat stunned for a moment, looking confused around the living room. Had Bethesda implemented some ” white man only” policy that I was unaware of? No, of course not. This was simply the voice of some other Fallout player who also happened to be making his character, being piped directly into my home through the magic of Fallout 76.

”No!” the awful voice continued. “That is not a white man! That is a [swear word] [derogatory term for someone of Middle Eastern descent].”

”It’s not!” the voice of a young child insisted. My heart froze. ” It’s not a [derogatory term for someone of Middle Eastern descent]. It is a white man.”

“That is no white man!” the older voice insisted. ” Boy, you might as well make a [swear word] [swear word] [derogatory term for someone with African heritage]. Do you want to be running around this [swear word] game as a [swear word] [derogatory term for someone of Middle Eastern descent]?”

“No, Daddy”, the little voice said quietly. I couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl, but the child sounded like they were crying a little. It was absolutely heart breaking.

“Get that hook nose off of there,” the world’s worst father hollered into my home. “He looks like a [swear word] [derogatory term for a Jewish person].”

It quickly became apparent that there was no way to mute other players from the character creation screen. I was going to have to mute my sound system to keep this cretin from screaming more obscene horrors into my home.

“No, you [upsetting term for someone with mental disabilities],” the voice yelled. ” He has [derogatory term for people of Latino descent] eyes!”

What?
This is an Alberg Eisensteinman on the That Happened scale. What the fuck kinda game has voip on the character creation screen?

I 'unno, faggots trying to make clickbait? I simply don't see the point of this article. That people are racist? Only racist dads buy Fallout 76 for their kids? Fallout 76 has server voice chat just for the character creation screen?

Your answer lies here:
I play video games as an escape from the difficulties of the real world, a way to turn my mind off and disengage from all of the many problems in the troubled time we find ourselves in. I will absolutely continue playing Fallout 76, but I will be experiencing the horrors of the Waste without mixing in the horrors of the real world, thank you very much.
I bet he let loose a mighty FPMUUUURRRGGGGG before crying into his soylent.

Why a Toronto-area school board can't force out a trustee accused of racism and xenophobia

'I will not quit,' said the trustee, just a week after the board posted her resignation letter

A woman recently elected to the York Region District School Board is defiantly, and successfully, rejecting calls to step down after making comments described as xenophobic and racist.

Elizabeth Terrell-Tracey was elected as trustee for East Gwillimbury and Whitchurch-Stouffville on Oct. 22, but quickly came under fire for social media posts that targeted her opponent, Lena Singh.
"I would like to inform people … Just so you know … Ms. Singh was born in Guyana," Terrell-Tracey wrote in a community Facebook group in September. "You are backing someone not born in Canada."

On Oct. 26, the school board announced that Terrell-Tracey had withdrawn her name from the position, posting a letter attributed to the trustee-elect in which she acknowledged her "hurtful and offensive" comments. The trustee-elect added that her "personal health issues" would have hindered her ability to do the job.

However, hours later, the YRDSB pulled down the letter and said Terrell-Tracey was reconsidering the move.

In an email sent to CBC Toronto and school board staff on Friday, Terrell-Tracey defended her position.

"I have been given by God ordained thru the people a polarizing position to create peace. I will not quit. The people elected me, all walks of faith, all nationalities because I am a healer, blessings come to those that wait," she wrote in the email, sent at 12:13 a.m.

While the YRDSB has strongly criticized Terrell-Tracey's social media comments since her election, it appears the board has no ability to prevent her from being sworn in on Dec. 3.

"The Facebook comments we have seen, regardless of context, were xenophobic, racist and hurtful," said board chair Corrie McBain in a statement earlier this week.

The board's director of education, Louise Sirisko, said there has been a "loss of public confidence with our board" since the election.

"It deeply saddens us," she added

Can she be forced out?
Since the election, a variety of parents, community members and trustees have implored Terrell-Tracey to withdraw from the position. There are also calls for the board to force her out.

After exploring several options, the board said it now appears that no such mechanism exists.

In an interview with CBC Toronto, Sirisko said there are a number of processes in place around equity training and education for new trustees. The YRDSB also has a new integrity commissioner, who can field complaints from the public about trustees.

However, Sirisko said the commissioner is likely unable to investigate concerns arising prior to the time a trustee is sworn in.

"I think it is very likely that [the commissioner] is going to be looking forward, not historically," she said.

Sirisko added that the province also does not have the ability to take action against an elected trustee.

"It makes me very uncomfortable to work alongside this person, because we know what their thinking is," said Juanita Nathan, YRDSB trustee for Markham Wards 7 and 8. She was born in Sri Lanka and called Terrell-Tracey's comments hurtful.

'We're just waiting until Dec. 3 to see what more we can do."

In 2017, the YRDSB also faced pressure to oust former trustee Nancy Elgie, who used a racial slur in reference to a black parent. She eventually resigned after weeks of disruption and protests.

In Chilliwack, B.C., a similar battle has ensued after a school board trustee was pressured to resign over comments about transgender children. He has not stepped down.

Trustee calling for new totem pole
In Terrell-Tracey's Friday email, she said that her first order of business as trustee will be to install an "official First Nations totem pole" at Summitview Public School in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

The school was home to a totem pole built by students in the 1970s, but the structure was removed last year. The board said there was little consultation with local First Nations at the time of its construction, and that the pole had become structurally unsafe.

Summitview Public School has not requested a new totem pole, which are traditional to Indigenous peoples in the Pacific Northwest.

Terrell-Tracey also signed off the email using what she called her First Nations name: "Lizzy Bear."

Tokyo celebrates the Allies’ victory in WWI

THE JAPAN TIMES

Today the citizens of the capital of Japan rejoice with the Allies, of whom Japan has been so important a member, and celebrate the triumph of their common cause.

The city will be decorated with a flood of flags by day and illuminations at night and cheers of “banzai” over the glorious termination of the great war will be heard on every hand.

Enormous crowds will stream into Hibiya Park and neighborhood especially, and other parts of the city throughout the day.

The municipal celebration at Hibiya Park will commence at 2 p.m. Leading citizens and guests specially invited will assemble at 1 p.m.

The proceedings will begin with music by the army and navy bands after which Viscount Tajiri, mayor of Tokyo, will read an address of congratulations before the guests, including the members of the diplomatic corps. H.E. the British Ambassador Sir Conyngham Greene, on behalf of the Allies’ ambassadors and ministers, will deliver a congratulatory address, to be followed by the “Kimigayo.”

Then, at the instance of Mayor Tajiri, three “banzai” will be given in honor of H.M. the Emperor, to be followed by similar cheers for the rulers of the Allied nations called for by Mr. Hara, premier. Mayor Tajiri will then propose similar cheers in honor of the Allied armies. This will conclude the formal part of the program.

Two fine arches have been erected at the Hibiya and Saiwai gates, beautifully decorated with chrysanthemum flowers and Allied flags. A great tent has been pitched over the garden at the back of the bandstand, to be used as a dining hall. Various interesting fancy decorations have been constructed in the park.

Interesting entertainments will go on for two days between noon and 9 o’clock in the evening. Among others, there will be kagura and daikagura dances; niwaka dances; juvenile fencing dances; popular theatricals by the Soganoya troupe; comic dances; kappore dances; cinema and moving picture shows; and fireworks at the park. Balloon flying will be held between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for two days.

They barely did anything during the First World War. They besieged German Tsingtao for a few weeks, sent a destroyer squadron to the Eastern Mediterranean, and sent a few volunteer pilots to join the French air force on the Western Front. In fact, their measly war effort against the Central Powers was vastly overshadowed in terms of sheer size and scope by their occupation of the Russian Far East ports after the Bolshevik revolution.

Well they did rule the specks of shit known as the Marshall Islands for a while.

Shit, I read about that. The US really needs to beef their security up so that shit never happens again.

Though the question remains, who'll be the new mayor now that the old one's dead?

https://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/a...average-cow-10-most-exceptional-cattle-breeds

Cows have a long history of domestication, so people have had plenty of time to get creative.

Cows were first domesticated somewhere around 10,000 years ago. In that time, humans have selectively bred them for specific qualities. And sometimes, those qualities are extraordinary. Here are some of the more visually amazing breeds of cattle from around the world.

[...]

Miniature panda cow

And finally, we have a particularly rare cow. The panda cow is known for its markings that are just like giant pandas, right down to the dark eye patches. In fact, it isn't a panda cow if the markings aren't right — the white belt around the middle and distinct black eye patches on the white face. There are only a handful of these in the world, somewhere around 30 total. They're so rare that when one is born, it usually makes the news, and there is even a pair of miniature panda cows at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington.

Texas longhorn cow

This breed is descended from a mix between a breed from Iberia and a breed from India, and they were some of the first cattle brought to North America by Europeans. The longhorn is well known for, well, long horns. The horns can grow as much as 7 feet from tip to tip! Despite the intimidating horns, they are quite gentle and smart (for a cow).
That is a damned lie. The one we helped raise was dumb and clumsy. He couldn't understand that when the horse kicked him, it meant "stay away from my food, asshole." We also had to be careful because he'd get excited and start shaking his big ass head around us, almost hitting us with those big horns. He was sweet... and delicious.

You should be allowed to kill autists in self-defense if you see them playing video games. It's only a matter of time before they kill you, too, like the poor innocent victims in the murder simulators they're playing to prepare for their killing spree.
Any Sonic game with guns in it should kill the player off like in The Ring.
