It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Steven Seagal just received the highest honor ever for a non-Russian — the Order of Friendship:

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday bestowed a state decoration on Steven Seagal, the American action-movie actor who also holds Russian citizenship.

The awarding of the Order of Friendship was announced on the Russian government's internet portal. The order recognizes people who Russia considers to have contributed to bettering international relations.

Seagal was a vocal supporter of Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea and last year visited the Russian-held Ukrainian town of Olenivka where dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war were reportedly killed in an attack for which Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other.

Seagal was named in 2018 as a Russian Foreign Ministry humanitarian envoy to the United States and Japan.

Workers at a Scottish farm said a the mystery of how sheep were escaping their pen was solved when a Leicester sheep named Lucy was caught on camera opening the latch with her mouth.

The Whitehouse Farm in Morpeth posted a video to Facebook showing Lucy the sheep sticking her head through the fence and using her mouth to undo the latch.

Lucy then pulls the gate open, allowing her and the rest of her comrades in the pen to wander loose.

"A mystery has been solved today at Whitehouse Farm," the Facebook post said. "We have been puzzled for sometime how the same pen of sheep keep getting out."

Zelensky: “US Will Have to Send Sons and Daughters to War”

Speaking at a press conference on Feb. 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened that “the US will have to send their sons and daughters to war” if more aid for his country were not forthcoming.

“If Ukraine, due to various opinions and weakening of assistance, loses, Russia is going to enter Baltic states, NATO member states, and then the US will have to send their sons and daughters exactly the same way as we are sending our sons and daughters to war, and they will have to fight, because it’s NATO that we’re talking about, and they will be dying,” Zelensky said.

Ukrainian leaders like Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Melnyk have evacuated their sons to Western countries to avoid the draft. The former Ambassador to Germany Melnyk left his 20-year-old son in Berlin, where he is a student and is said to drive a Porsche Cayenne.

Regular blue-collar Ukrainian men between 18 and 60 are subject to the draft.

Former U.S. Marine Troy Offenbecker, who is fighting in Ukraine’s International Legion, told ABC News that when a Ukrainian soldier fights on the frontlines in Bakhmut, their life expectancy is only around four hours.

“It’s been pretty bad on the ground,” he said. “A lot of casualties. The life expectancy is around four hours on the frontline.”

Offenbecker said Bakhmut has been called “the meat grinder” because of the macabre scenes, and he described the fighting as “chaotic,” Newsweek reports.

But don't call them "groomers" guys, that's totally crazy, it's not like they're trying to recruit children into their weird, disgusting perversions!

And also, just. . .like New Jersey. . .of fucking course.
Speaking of New Jersey, a cat lady who resided in New Jersey have blown her house.

It was worse than a catfight.

A New Jersey woman’s fight against eviction ended in a deadly blaze Wednesday when she intentionally started a fire in the home she shared with dozens of cats and refused to vacate.

The woman and dozens of cats died in the massive fire, which broke out shortly after 11 a.m. in Roosevelt, authorities said.

State police had served the unidentified woman an eviction notice but she refused to leave and threatened to blow up the house.

CNN on damage control:
The powers that be that used to be against war and involving others into foreign wars that have nothing to do with them are now for the war that keep their pockets and leadership safe.

Overton Window and all.

No. This is wrong. This is also why you keep a fat friend around. According to a study I just made up, victims of sudden large predator attacks have vastly improved chances of surviving unscathed if there is a slow fatty nearby. You've all seen a NatGeo or Discovery show. Predators always go for the slow or weak animal.

Seal pup returned to water after crossing busy New Jersey road

Animal rescuers said a young seal was returned to the wild one day after it exited the water and walked across a busy New Jersey road.

Brick Township police said they responded Monday when a seal pup was spotted crossing Route 35, near Curtis Point Drive.

Police stopped traffic to allow the seal to cross and watched as the animal made its way to a nearby back yard.

A Marine Mammal Stranding Center crew arrived on the scene and brought the 36-pound pup to its facility for examination and observation.

The seal was found to be uninjured and in good health, the center said.

The pup was returned to the water Tuesday afternoon.

"This actually isn't the first time we have had a gray seal pup try to cross Route 35 due to its close proximity to both the bay and ocean," the center said in a Facebook post.

I think that school board member should do a trip to Dearborn.

Arizona school board member says district should reject hiring teachers with Christian values: 'Not...safe'

Tamillia Valenzuela said board should consider 'where our values lie'

An Arizona school board member wearing cat ears during a meeting said she would oppose having a contract with a Christian university over the religious and Biblical beliefs they espouse, Fox News Digital found.

The Washington Elementary School District, which serves students in the Phoenix and Glendale areas, had an ongoing contract with Arizona Christian University for five years, enabling their student teachers to be placed in its schools for field experience. The contract opened up opportunities for recruitment and hiring.

On Feb. 23, the board agreed on a motion to dissolve the partnership with the Christian university. They did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether they have a bias against Christian beliefs.

Just curious to the posters here so I can be a better farmer but what makes you decide to post an article here as opposed to the main page or vice versa?

My rule of thumb is whether or not it's just fun and informative, or if it's likely to spark a lot of discussion.
If little/no discussion, it goes here, if discussion, out there, so it doesn't clutter up this thread.
