It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

His real estate videos were my favorite. I have had to look for office space in NYC and it was maddening. It was yet another reason I left.

Meanwhile, North Korea has fired a ballistic missile into its eastern waters, just hours before South Korea’s president was due to fly to Japan for the first summit between the two countries in years.

Imagine dying because of some Kentucky university's wrestling team.

Settlement after US student athlete Grant Brace died begging for water

A university in Kentucky has agreed to pay $14m (£11m) to the family of a wrestler who died of heat stroke after he begged for water during training.

Grant Brace, 20, died in August 2020 after sprinting up and down a steep hill multiple times. His lawyers said coaches refused to allow him water.

Two coaches named in the suit allegedly created an "atmosphere of fear of intimidation" on the team.

The University of the Cumberlands said it hoped the deal would give closure.

But it maintained that it could have defeated a lawsuit had it proceeded to trial.

"We sincerely hope that resolving this matter early in the legal process will offer the Brace family a measure of peace and healing," university chancellor Jerry Jackson said in a statement.

The lawsuit had said that Brace, a native of Louisville, became "profoundly disoriented" after the difficult first day of practiceat an area of the campus known as "Punishment Hill".

The university junior had been diagnosed with ADHD and narcolepsy, forcing him to take medications that require proper hydration, especially during exercise.

Despite his medical needs, the lawsuit said that two coaches would mock him when he asked for a water break, saying: "Do you think you are special and are allowed more water?"

On the day of his death, Brace completed numerous sprints and then "sat down out of exhaustion", the lawsuit said.

After being told that he would be kicked off the team, he is said to have performed an additional run to the top of the hill before stopping and saying: "I'm done. I can't do this anymore."

"Suffering from heat stroke, Grant begged 'I need water, somebody help me,'" the lawsuit said, adding that he told people that he felt like he was dying and was speaking in gibberish phrases.

Coaches screamed at him after the team returned indoors and he fled the wrestling room, the lawsuit said. He searched for a working water fountain, but collapsed and died before he could find one. Coaches found him about 45 minutes later.

A university spokesperson said the university believed that it could have defeated the lawsuit, "but the legal process would have been long, difficult and costly, ending years from now in a trial with an uncertain outcome".

"The university made the decision to settle the case now in a manner it hopes will respect the Brace family's tremendous loss."

The university will also participate in a heat-illness awareness training programme and will help raise awareness for heat-related injuries, the spokesperson added.

There's one sheriff and his two deputies should be careful with the soap bar in jail.

WASHINGTON COUNTY — The sheriff of Iron County and two of his deputies are accused of "criminal street gang activity" in what prosecutors allege was a parental kidnapping plot to help a friend.
Jeff Burkett, in his first term as sheriff of Iron County, was in jail Friday, along with the pair of Iron County deputies and a fourth man, Donald Rickie Gaston.
Prosecutors allege the sheriff and deputies tried last month to help Gaston kidnap his daughter after a fight with the child's mom over a $50 bottle of liquor.
The sheriff is charged, among other things, with lying to a 911 dispatcher to report the child's mother had kidnapped the girl and that the child was in danger. They also are accused of using "pings" from the mother's cell phone to try to track her whereabouts

Sorry for the double post but after five years, the three guys who shot XXXTentacion was found guilty. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crim...uilty-of-murdering-rapper-in-2018/ar-AA18Rv2W

Three men have been found guilty of murdering XXXTentacion outside a motorcycle shop in Florida in 2018.

Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome were all found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery. The verdict came Monday, March 20, after seven days of deliberation (not including last Friday, with the judge granting a day off for jurors to take care of personal affairs). Closing arguments in the case wrapped on Wednesday, March 8.

The trial began back in February, nearly five years after XXXTentacion — real name Jahseh Onfroy — was shot and killed on June 18, 2018 at the age of 20. Lead prosecutor Pascale Achille argued that Onfroy was killed in a robbery gone wrong: She said the suspects planned to commit armed robberies that day, but only happened upon Onfroy at the motorcycle shop because that’s where they’d stopped to buy masks. Though that encounter was a coincidence, Achille claimed the suspects recognized Onfroy and decided to rob him as he left the store.

"'Pantry porn' trend rooted in racist, sexist behavior: Loyola professor"
If you ditched cereal boxes for uniform glass containers and opted for Plexiglas storage bins in your fridge, you may be engaging in classist, racist and sexist behaviors, one Chicago professor contends.
Dr. Jenna Drenten, an associate professor of marketing at Loyola University, argued Tuesday that the recent obsession with organizing kitchen and pantry spaces — a TikTok trend she dubbed “pantry porn” — is pushing societal standards that the average American cannot keep up with while tricking consumers into spending more money.
The “new minimalism” approach is just a thinly veiled excuse to entice people to buy more items — containers, labels and storage space — that give off the decluttered appearance of simple living, Drenten wrote for the Conversation.
“Storing spices in coordinated glass jars and color-coordinating dozens of sprinkles containers may seem trivial. But tidiness is tangled up with status, and messiness is loaded with assumptions about personal responsibility and respectability,” the professor stated.
“Cleanliness has historically been used as a cultural gatekeeping mechanism to reinforce status distinctions based on a vague understanding of ‘niceness’: nice people, with nice yards, in nice houses, make for nice neighborhoods.
“What lies beneath the surface of this anti-messiness, pro-niceness stance is a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures.”

According to Drenten’s research, the social media influencers who push pantry porn are “predominantly white women who demonstrate what it looks like to maintain a ‘nice’ home by creating a new status symbol: the perfectly organized, fully stocked pantry.”
Even celebrities have joined the trend, further peddling it.
Kim Kardashian showed off her massive walk-in fridge in 2020 — and two separate average-size others — that was peppered with glass jars filled with different condiments for frozen yogurt.

Last year, sister Khloe Kardashian bragged about her extravagant pantry that is packed with items on floor-to-ceiling shelves. Photos show most of the items — pastas, Fig Newtons and Goldfish — are stored in glass containers while other plastic-wrapped foods are stowed in wicker baskets.
Drenten emphasizes that orderly pantries have been a status symbol since the late 1800s, when only the wealthy could afford the space to hide both the food and the people who prepared it.
In the centuries since, pantries have evolved to be part of the open floor plan. How well the homeowner maintained the pantry and organized the space served as a new status marker instead.

She believes the recent trend of “pantry porn” was only exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, when shortages in the supply chain surged: “Keeping stuff on hand became a symbol of resilience for those with the money and space to do so.”
The Kardashians and other “pantry porn” celebrities have set the societal standard for an ideal mother, wife or woman, Drenten argues, but the aspiration falls apart for those who can’t afford the money or time to maintain the upkeep.
“Pantry porn, as a status symbol, relies on the promise of making daily domestic work easier. But if women are largely responsible for the work required to maintain the perfectly organized pantry, it’s critical to ask: easier for whom?” Drenten said.

I guess now when you can't just lock someone up in a lunatic asylum, you give them tenure instead. What even is this lunacy?

How else am I going to store flour and sugar then? Because the shitty paper bags they come in are not going to last very long and will just invite weevils.
Flour, sugar, rice, dry beans, oatmeal, any kind of staple you have in large quantities that keeps well attracts vermin. And this retarded ivory tower faggot is somehow claiming that normal practices that humans have done to protect food from vermin for literally millennia is somehow oppressive or whatever, I can't even tell what this mental midget is trying to say. You'd have to have a Ph.D. in being a stupid motherfucker even to understand it.

And that SOB won't practice what she preach unless she's one who like to eat vermin like she might like to eat the bugs.
