It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Tree trimmer killed in wood chipper accident in Florida

A South Florida tree trimmer has died after getting caught in a wood chipper, according to officials.

The accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Ocean Ridge, about 60 miles north of Miami, when a man was trimming trees on the first day of a project at the Ocean Ridge Town Hall and Police Department property.

"Upon arrival, Ocean Ridge officers found one person had died from injuries sustained in the accident, no other individuals on scene sustained injuries," city officials said in a statement on social media.

Lynne Ladner, the town manager of Ocean Ridge, told CBS affiliate WPEC that the man was pulled into the wood chipper up to his shoulders and was decapitated.

Ladner told WPEC that seven co-workers and one supervisor were at the scene and either witnessed the accident or heard it happening and ran over to assist the man. By the time co-workers made it over, it was too late to switch the emergency shut-off button.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the victim but Ladner told WPEC that the man's family lives in Mexico.

The investigation remains ongoing.

J.D. Vance’s Bold Step to Reclaim Robert E. Lee’s Legacy

By William Sullivan

J.D. Vance invited the ire of countless woke historical revisionists when he pushed back against the suggestion that, when Pete Hegseth removed retired General Mark Milley’s portrait from the Pentagon, this was somehow a sign that the Trump administration will be iconoclastic and authoritarian:

The "Rathergate" turns 21. That was the moment when Dan Rather menaged to both jumping the shark and nuking the fridge.

Rathergate at 21

Among the self-imagined elite of the media “too good to check” denotes a story they know is almost certainly a lie, but so neatly matches their prejudices and preconceptions, and so beautifully supports whatever narrative they’re currently pushing, they choose not to do minimal due diligence to confirm it. Two independent sources are necessary to confirm the truth of a story before publication? Not for years and years, perhaps not ever.

Such was the state of professional, Columbia Journalism School, journalism in September of 2004, when Dan Rather, then head anchor of CBS News, aired a 60 Minutes II segment claiming George W. Bush served dishonorably in the Texas Air National Guard. Rather, and his producer Mary Mapes, mysteriously obtained documents supposedly proving their report, but within days, the story fell apart. Led by Powerline, the documents were proved to be frauds produced on Microsoft Word using Times New Roman Font. That font wasn’t available then, and certainly not on the IBM Selectric typewriters available to the Texas Air National Guard.

TTD - Total Tourist Death
THOMPSON COVE BEACH, Turks and Caicos Islands (WKRC) - A woman reportedly lost her hands to a shark attack while she was trying to take a selfie with the large creature. According to The New Zealand Herald, the woman was reportedly a 55-year-old Canadian tourist visiting the Thompson Cove Beach in the Caribbean.

The woman reportedly "attempted to engage" the 6-foot-long shark, at which point the animal attacked her and seriously injured her hands. The outlet reported that the woman needed to have one of her hands amputated below the wrist and her other arm was amputated halfway up her forearm.

Other beachgoers saved the woman from an even worse fate, with her husband scaring off the shark after the attack and strangers gathering around her and using their clothes to slow the bleeding.

According to authorities, the woman was specifically attempting to take a photo of or with the shark.
Authorities also believed the shark was a bull shark.
