It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Fox News has hired Donna Brazile, the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman, as a contributor, the company said in a news release on Monday.
Brazile had been a contributor for CNN but was dismissed after reports emerged in December 2016 that she gave advance information to then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton about questions she would face during a televised town hall aired by the cable news channel. Brazile initially denied the accusation but later admitted to sharing topics, calling it "a mistake I will forever regret."

In an op-ed article on FoxNews.com, Brazile wrote that she hoped to improve the tenor of political debate.
“Will I agree with my fellow commentators at Fox News? Probably not. But I will listen," Brazile wrote.
Brazile said she would question assertions about low-income people and issues such as climate change, but would do so with “civility and respect.”
Brazile added: “I will also freely admit the weaknesses in liberal arguments and the strength in conservative positions.”
Brazile will not be involved in the process of planning presidential debates and town halls, according to a source familiar with the network who was not authorized to speak about the matter publicly. She made her debut on the 2 p.m. ET edition of “Daily Briefing with Dana Perino
