this was a disappointment imo.

There were only a few games that I like like resident evil ex and final fantasy vii and metal gear solid

But where is Castlevania symphony of the night
Where is Megaman x4
Where is silent hill
Where is resident evil 2
Where is Valkyrie profile
Where is crash bandicoot
Where is Spyro
where is tomb raider.

I just wasn’t convinced to buy it. theres barely anything appealing to me except FFVII, RE, and MGS. :/

I just don't see the point when you can go down to your local goodwill and pick up an actual ps1 for $10 and games for a dollar.

And that's with a thumbstick controller.

I wish I was near your Goodwill, the days of finding sweet video games at thrift stores are over.

I've seen a few at GW and Salvation in a couple states. You need to find the ones that do computer refurbishment, because that means they have people who at least know what a older game console is and don't immediately throw it in the scrap bin for not being an Xbox.

I still have a modchipped PSone that I play games on. But there's plenty of better ways to play PS1 games than the PS Classic. For modern TVs, using a PS3 is probably the best overall for that.

Except for Silent Hill because of the sound bug. There is a work around though.

Not in the UK, they don't sell electronics at all. You might find the occasional game but don't count on it.

I don't know about US thrift stores beyond what I see in LGR. That said, I've heard people blame shows like LGR and Game Hunters (I forget the name of the show) for ruining thrift stores because everybody is scraping them hoping for that ultra rare find.

To be honest, I did used to find some good classic games at my local Goodwill when I was in high school.

They were all PC games though, never found any console stuff.

Though I did get a few good PC games back then. Namely Fallout 1 and 2, Empire Earth, and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines

How to get me to buy something like this: do what Nintendo did with the SNES Classic. They finished and included a game that didn't exist (except in buggy beta dumps) before that! That's so cool.

All Sony would have to do is pick up some text-heavy classics that never left Japan, translate them, and include a few in the library. Maybe throw in some really rare games too. Voila: "new" games. I would snatch something up like that.

One of the YouTubers I follow said someone found evidence inside the PS Classic that a lot of those games were planned for inclusion early on. (I know SotN and Silent Hill were mentioned.) But I guess they couldn't secure the rights.

That reminds me I still need to get that final ROM of Star Fox 2 at some point.

Another trick would be to get some of the "banned" games rated. I doubt Thrill Kill is going to upset modern day PEGI the way it offended the BBFC.

Because video game companies like money and they don't like to extend their game licenses when they can make more money selling them individually.

X4 - Because Capcom just released another MMX collection in July.
Silent Hill & Castlevania SoTN - Because Fuck Konami. Also, I am certain Konami has had a hateboner for the Silent Hill franchise.
RE2 - Because Capcom has a remake coming out in a few weeks.
Valkyrie Profile - Because Square Enix only wants to promote FF and Kingdom Hearts.
Crash Bandicoot & Spyro - Because they just has re-releases earlier this year.
Tomb Raider - Because Square Enix just released a new Tomb Raider game.

Well Capcom, Konami, and Square Enix letted Nintendo put their games on the NES and SNES classics

Looking at the SNES Classic, out of the 21 games on it, only 4 have only appeared on other consoles that aren't owned by Nintendo - Mega Man X, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI, and Street Fighter II.

Most, if not all, of the the other 3rd party games on the SNES Classic were built exclusively for the SNES back in the day (Super Castlevania, Contra 3, Super Ghouls & Ghosts), or at least they've never been ported to any other system as far as I know. I would bet Nintendo still has some kind of exclusivity clause on them even now.
