New trailer for upcoming Invader Zim tv movie. I managed to miss this completely when it first aired, but first discovered it via late night airings a few years later in a hotel that had the nicktoons channel around 4th grade or so. I was a pretty big fan of it at the time and always wished that it had a proper ending. Ironic that this is happening now, when there was actually a pretty big movement to revive it around 8 years back.

Anyway, thoughts? I realize that the fanbase of this show is absolute cancer, but I think that most of the actual show was pretty good and that it had an interesting and unique plotline for a Nick show.

Wow it really looks good. I was afraid the animation would look cheap and bad compared to the original but I'm glad that isn't the case.

Some of the scenes (specifically the Dib ones) are from the comic. I wonder if the movie will be an animated adaptation of it?

Edit: lol salt is already being generated.

That is some goddamn gorgeous animation, as to be expected, Nickelodeon spared no expense it seems (or they did cut back on costs, but they made sure to get the best animators that they could, if not the entire original team). There's a little bit of redesigns there, but it works really well that you have to be paying close attention to even notice. I wasn't such a huge sperg about the show but liked it enough to be considered a casual fan, so I can't fucking wait for this.

The original show was extremely expensive to animate and I believe that was one of the (many) reasons it got cancelled. I kind of expected Nick to cut back on the budget for the movie though the animation still looks amazing nonetheless, much to my relief.

I'm gonna be honest, I was a massive Zim fan when I was younger. I went back to the series a few years ago and I found a lot of the humour (especially from GIR) incredibly obnoxious.

That being said, I remember it could be kinda cool in places, so Id be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to this.

I think I watched this show as a kid maybe 1 or 2 times over at a friend's house, so I don't remember it much. Is the trailer faithful to the original show?

Salt.
More salt.

There's also a lot of massive sperging over the Tallest having thumbs or some shit.

I'm honestly glad they moved from the edgy goth aesthetic of the original show. Besides Zim always had a Cal Arts style to it though unlike shows today it actually worked and fit in well. Outside of the lighter color palette and slightly softer lines it still looks the same.

I would be interested if this show wasn't one of the catalysts of the 'lol so ransom's movement. At least the show's getting acknowledge I guess.
