OSAKA -- Two American men, including an internet streamer repeatedly uploading videos showing his nuisance behavior in Japan, were handed fresh arrest warrants on Oct. 12 for allegedly filming inside an eatery here without permission and playing loud music.


Osaka Prefectural Police arrested the pair including 24-year-old Ismael Ramsey Khalid, known by the handle Johnny Somali, on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business at a restaurant in Osaka's Chuo Ward.

The two are specifically accused of filming inside the eatery with a smartphone and streaming it live on a video sharing website, as well as playing loud music on the early morning of Sept. 12. Khalid has reportedly remained silent while the other man has told police he has no recollection of the incident.

In August, the pair were arrested for trespassing into the site of a hotel under construction in the city's Chuo Ward without permission. They were released without indictment on Oct. 12 by the Osaka District Public Prosecutors Office.

Arab Andy was the IP2 streamer who would do lots of things, but had been going into libraries and schools etc to play common IP2 donations
one day this ramped up when people started sending in bomb threats and bomb meme donations which managed to clear a whole room
he was given 10 years for that, but, he didnt serve them all, and he got out some time ago now
this is his new channel, though i doubt he will be going out and doing those streams again

while the only winning move is not to play(as in not do stupid shit), in Johnny Somali's case, he's already fucked.

when you get caught in Japan, the best possible move if you are actually guilty (in Somali's case, there's already video evidence) , the best winning move is to confess the crime and show remorse so you can get that 1 crime sentence and serve it, and most likely the police will be triumphant, justice served and forget the other crimes since they got you already. If you are indignant, or show no remorse or not confess, they can definitely pile on the crimes you comitted over and over and you can potentially be just in jail for over a year because you get keep getting re-arrested for other crimes you comitted. Its also part of the reason why Japan has a high conviction rate. most criminals confess to the first crime so they can get off easy, be in prison for the 1 crime you confess rather than fighting all the cases and serve all of them.

so in Somali's case, he actually opted to remain silent and want a lawyer (dumbest move possible in his case instead of confessing right away). And now he is being re-arrested for disturbing the peace in a restaurant in Osaka and filming. unfortunately, looking at his videos, there are at least 3 instances where he disturbed the peace in a restaurant in Osaka. so that's at least 2 more charges waiting for him, after he is released from the new 23 days in jail. and there might be actually more charges for other crimes he committed.

Not only that, there are even more instances where Johnny disturbed the peace. but more importantly, there's a new law in Japan regarding photography/video. its 撮影罪, just passed this July, will punish crime of unsolicited photography/video of persons and distributing them to the internet or other means and each instance of a crime is punishable by 3 years of prison and 21000 USD fine. And Johnny has been wantonly getting up to other people's faces and harassing them.
And since he is basically widely known now in Japan, people can actually sue him for filming them without permission. You know that guy he harassed on the train? he can sue Johnny for filming him without permission.

I think Johnny hasn't realized the full extent of his fuck up yet, or his lawyer hasn't explained to him. once he was re-arrested again for the other crime, that was it, the police will slowly drip-feed the charges on him and will keep him re-arrested for the crimes. he might actually spend a year or 2 in jail just being keep re-arrested for the crimes he committed. and the fucker Somali will probably think he's already serving his prison sentence.

I remember Arab Andy doing a comeback stream a year or two ago, he was streaming from inside his moms house and during his very first stream he already got swatted and that led him to claim he'd never stream again.
