They don't have any reason to continue drug testing him. He didn't actually even need to be drug tested in the first place, it was completely voluntary and he went along with it because his handler Hank told him to.

It's not like you have a right to a US passport. They can pull them for any reason.

These things take time there same as here. You don't just sling people in jail for non life-threatening crimes to await their trial or you'd have jails exploding at the seams. They've taken away his ability to leave South Korea until the time of his trial, after which he'll almost certainly be thrown in prison for a few years.
