Is giving DSP money in troll subs worth it?

Those troll subs truly made Phil rich. He either got 50$ or 100$. Oh lawdy, that's SO much money when you've got two mortgages and other debt bullshit to pay off.
The 50$ number is based on a thing where Twitch streamer get's 2.50$ of normal 5$ sub, and Twitch prime is normal sub, IIRC.
While I obviously disagree with giving Phil, or any other streamer, money, the trolls weren't handing him 10$ or 20$ to say dumb bullshit and legimite viewers are propably curious as to what those random sub names were and some may look into them.

It's funny there are some users here who literally camp in Phil's stream day after day trying to subtly troll him and thinking they're incredible for it, only for someone to come along and tell Phil off for complaining about trivial things while he's mourning the loss of his brother and get Phil angrier and more reprehensible looking than he has in ages.

You'd think there would be a lesson in there somewhere but instead you still get people subscribing to him using derogatory names that are meant to troll him, only for it to make him even more happy because, here's a surprise, out of everything in life Phil loves, the thing he loves most is getting money.

I don't hate DSP so it's not the end of the world in my eyes but those 20 people who subscribed to him in an attempt to troll him, just made his life easier instead of more difficult. The only humour that can be gleaned here is from how stupid some of the people who follow him are.

This is a guy who gets a $300 in bits from KingJezal and is like "shoutouts to KingJezal for the cheer. thanks." and a $200 donation from Afghanistan the next day and still hits the gin crying about losing his house and Leanna on Twitter shortly afterwards. I doubt $50 in subs for 1 month is going to make his life that much easier.
I would never give him money, but the internalized rage from the troll names during his time to shine, featured twitch extensions stream, hurt his psyche more than $50s worth. He wouldn't have spent the night telling anybody who would listen that he "won" if it didn't affect his psyche that much.

Regarding trolling with bit messages and stuff, it isn't just about the fact that you're spending money to troll him. By openly trolling Phil, you're justifying his "detractor" excuses. Phil is good at few things in life, but he does know how to milk sympathy from his paypigs. He loves when there are detractors, because it makes it easier to ebeg. He can also play up the "stick it to the detractors" aspect to his paypigs.

Even if you don't care about that, it honestly isn't funny most of the time. It basically amounts to "I subbed with a name that references gout/Leanna/etc. Phil didn't read it, but he totally saw it, cause his face changed for a few seconds." Or, more often than not "I subbed with a joke name and he ignored me, but here's a screenshot of that joke name on the screen." If you really want to do something like that, all you have to do is go on Phil's instagram and comment with "Okay." It generates the same effect, without having to spend any money.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but Phil is his own biggest troll. You don't need to try and provoke him, he does a perfectly good job of being a trainwreck without wasting money, even if it is only a buck or two.

personally, i think 20 people at once is overdoing it, but a few names to try and poke some reaction out of him on such a "critical" stream is hilarious and worth giving him a few bucks
those people subbed with amazon prime, meaning they made an account, got the 1 month free trial and subbed; no money out of their pocket
it's the knowledge that he can't attack in the moment because he has to be a good boy that's funnier then him reeeing on stream

anyway, the "dealing with stress" thread was deleted, so my archive is the last remnant of it unless someone else has screenshots of new replies that i missed

EDIT: i don't follow phil's twitter shit much, but it's suspiciously squeaky clean right now. no fights or insults, just the one complaint to YT about his food review being demonetized. mainly schedule/channel crap and one or two ~*positivity and love*~ posts. he was REALLY worried about twitchcon wasn't he?

this is very true. these "subtle trolling interactions" are indeed nothing but ego masturbation that ends up financially benefiting him. if you really want to, the best way to "troll" him is to keep talking about him---not to him---and contribute to his godawful public image by highlighting his most detrimental flaws (e.g., the hyporcitical SoW meltdown or unloading on that guy whose brother died).

Also, to the people trying to troll him, keep in mind that reporting him to Twitch will have zero effect - he's earning a couple of thousand of dollars for them, the only way they'll ditch him is if keeping him would cost them more than he's currently worth. If you really want to go all the way and a-log him, contacting the advertisers directly may be a better venue.

So Twitch is going to continue letting him get away with viewbots simply because they know he's probably too technologically illiterate to be able to do it himself? Listen up everybody else on Twitch. You can viewbot to your hearts content as long as you pay them off enough have someone else do it for you and you get your fans to bombard them with reports.
While it is against ToS, how is Phil benefiting from viewbots in any way? He shows up higher on some page, but it is not like he is gaining tons of new viewers or it has somehow led to money he wouldn't get anyway. It is just his same old beaten down regulars showing up like Phil is the Twitch version of a dive bar only with an obviously inflated number as his viewer count. Is there something else about this that I am missing, besides it being against Twitch guidelines that Twitch obviously doesn't care about?

They have the tools to handle this sort of thing especially if they know exactly what channel its taking place on and it happens all the time. Never seen a company just blatantly let it go on and on like this.
They'll have to do something eventually since somebody can bring up the fact that viewbots give an unfair advantage over streamers who have legitimate viewers. Via a legal notice of course

Yes, phil wants to gain new viewers by giving off the impression that he's 'popular' via the quantity of viewers he supposedly has . In phil's mind "a lot of fake viewers=more popularity= new viewers on twitch". Of course this is dsp we're talking about and most things he does end up backfiring on him

Someone predicted it on here months ago, but living alone is starting to drive him crazy. We're only at 4 months, just wait until the holidays come.
I wonder if DSP knows that Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas in early January.

Can't imagine what it would be if south park made a small parody of DSP
Cartman seeing Phil get given thousands a month and still crying for more and being given more despite acting like an entitled cunt, wondering how he can get similar results...its workable imo

I think what excuses it in this case is that Phil had an interaction with the wider world. From what we know about Phil, who has no girlfriend, no friends, no family (that he meets in person or seems to care about) and nobody except his hugbox fans this is an exceptional event for an exceptional person.

It isn't like next Tuesday he's going to be "potentially" broadcast live to Twitchcon. I think people were probably pretty hyped that the goutmaster might actually get on screen or get a shit ton of viewers (besides the viewbots) which never ended up happening. And it's probably somewhat of a good thing that when Phil was the most exposed he has been to the wider world (I know its not like he was streaming to CNN or anything, but this is the most 'wider world' thing Phil has probably done in his entire life) that people were there making sure that even though Phil was on his best behavior and trying to get the most good boy points possible that he has a long, complicated history that is worthy of mentioning.

Sure, it proves that 'da detractors' exist. But if a 'detractor' is someone who can type 12 characters in a name and get Phil angry over those 12 characters, then you know the issues are clearly on Phil's side.

Rather optimistically, I hope that someone from Twitch as well as "da innocent bystanders" actually saw the fragments of Phil's history that makes Phil the person we all know and love today. A moron.

Plus its like $50. That sure as shit isn't going to even put a dent in any part of his financial situation.

No.
Even 1 dollar is too much.
You have to remember, it's not just 1 person doing this, it's several, and this small group can grow into a huge group who will then cause pity donations to occur from his paypigs. Before you know it, he gained 500 dollars.

Just because they got a semi funny reaction out of him does NOT justify giving him money under ANY circumstances. He may be initially somewhat annoyed with the troll names, but he'll immediately ignore it because he got money
You gave him money to "troll" him? You are a ween and automatically a fucking r.etard. Period. This isn't something you can argue, it's a fact.

Whatever the justifications claimed, it's crystal clear: trying to embarrass Phil by giving him troll donations doesn't work. What he hates most is being exposed. The SF inputs video, going off on WarDog, Rambo and Howard, etc.

This is how you DO bully DSP.
