The only thing that's wrong is having so much hairOn the faithful day of December 24, 2007, James Rolfe predicted his own demise.
Where did the hair go?The only thing that's wrong is having so much hair
I wish the new AVGN episodes were half as good as predicted here. Maybe if James grows a beard he will gain some kind of charismaOn the faithful day of December 24, 2007, James Rolfe predicted his own demise.
I looked up that guy and what he's been posting, he's going through the usual Twitter addict cycle of threatening to leave because of Elon Musk but staying because the addiction is too strong. Also, it's been 2 years and we're still nowhere closer to the AVGN NES game. I guess it's hard for Freakzone to find development time when he's got a full time job sucking tranny dick on twitter.
This video was prophetic. Not shocking that Mike was the actual nerd and James was just the actor, everything went downill after the movie. On the faithful day of December 24, 2007, James Rolfe predicted his own demise.
Just good? I think there were plenty of serviceable episodes from 2019 and for a couple years after, like Pepsiman. But I think the last time we got a really good classic feeling AVGN episode was probably Paperboy. This video was prophetic. What's the consensus on the last good review he made? For me, it was his Earthbound review. Not sure what it was about it, but it had the same energy as his older ones with good editing inbetween. The 200(?) one where he goes back in time to meet his younger self was pretty good too, but that's about it from his newer reviews(especially once his hairline started to go)
I suspect Mike knew it was a bad idea and didn't want to even try to tard wrangle Bimmy to do a half decent job.Speaking of the movie, how did Mike end up getting shafted from that? He was one of three "owners" of AVGN, at least in a sense. Doesn't even look like he got to work on the script.
It was revealed (I'd love to cite some sources if anyone can provide one) that Monster Madness was largely Mike's idea to continue. James had the idea for the first one and his big thing is silent and 30's/40's era horror and he just wanted to do a one-off series and that was it. But Mike wanted to see more and contributed movies and some reviews of them...Was watching one of the interviews he had with Job Bob Briggs, and James said he never heard of Society until it played on the Last Drive-In. I get everyone has blind spots for well-known movies they haven't seen, but for such a big horror fan to have never even heard of Society is just odd.
I'm not going to fault him for that tbh. Joe Bob was my gateway to a lot of horror, including Society. Was watching one of the interviews he had with Job Bob Briggs, and James said he never heard of Society until it played on the Last Drive-In. Last Drive-In aired Society in 2019. Won't give him shit for not seeing it, but after years of doing Monster Madness and bragging about his love of horror to not having heard of it, is just really odd and makes sense with what Bruno says.I'm not going to fault him for that tbh. And yet there's no way the whole thing would have worked without both of them. Mike might have gotten a better deal out of the whole thing since all anyone remembers of him is one stupid review and dick joke.It was revealed (I'd love to cite some sources if anyone can provide one) that Monster Madness was largely Mike's idea to continue. So there ya' go. The guy is a massive fraud. He's not a big movie guy except for a very specific era of movies. He's not a video game guy except for the 8 and 16-bit era and even then his knowledge is mostly cursory and was (once again) expanded by Mike. James confesses in the book that Mike got him into retro gaming in college.
Do not start a conversation with "And yet" because it comes off as dickish. Mike was a fool for not demanding proper credit for his work. Simple as that. And yet there's no way the whole thing would have worked without both of them. Speaking of the one thing he's remembered for, I didn't clip this at the time because effort but I'm doing it now because holy shit:And yet there's no way the whole thing would have worked without both of them.
