Well time to give my thoughts on this 3rd part.
  1. ExpressVPN ad. Okay, I get it, YouTubers need to rely on it to make money, not my biggest issue apart from trying to split the video into three parts to get more sponsor revenue, oops I'm sorry, I mean, "made it easier to edit as it goes along" instead of just editing all at once. Still, trying to be so energetic at the start won't change how the ad itself is still boring and you already are expecting what the ad is gonna have: Internet dangers, region restriction on streaming sites, #1 most rated VPN, etc. At least try to make it weird but I guess that one requires time for James.
  2. Part 2 ended with a Nerd in the computer yelling at AVGN "What were you thinking?" and even previewed as such in Part 3's "Previously on the AVGN", and Part 3 starts..... as if that Nerd in the computer never happened. Weird.
  3. Wrestling Games: A clip show from the Wrestling Games episode, with a new clip from AVGN saying you can play as yourself in two of the already reviewed three NES LJN WWF games. It then moves on to the Game Boy and SNES games, and AVGN says he finds the SNES WWF games fun even though he even says himself that he trashed them in the Wrestling Games episode. This is actually a rare instance in which AVGN gives new opinions for games he already reviewed. Even if you were to separate AVGN's opinions with James Rolfe's actual opinions (For instance, AVGN acts as if the TMNT III movie is the worst movie ever, but for James Rolfe himself it's not really too bad), it's still weird since it's still in AVGN's perspective. The Wrestling Games episode was considered mixed and I liked the episode, but there were some who don't like it and they usually are the ones who were into wrestling and knew that he was not even into wrestling. In retrospective, the Game Boy and SNES reviews should've been in the Wrestling Games episode to begin with. Other than that, nothing much to say.
  4. Other Games: After the Roll & Rocker clip, AVGN goes into the miscellaneous games, such as Pictionary for the NES. Oh yeah, be prepared to see more of these unfunny middle finger flips in that part. As if the previous part didn't have enough, though the domino one is fine, and James should've just only used that for the entire episode among the middle finger scenes. There is some Family Guy-like scene in the T&C Surf Design (NES) part where the player character gets gory when falling down from skateboarding and there's even few seconds of a close-up of that. Who thought this was a good idea? Speaking of Family Guy, there's also a scene where James sings "Surfing Bird" while throwing 2 T&C Surf Design NES games to the sharks. Meh. Oh yeah there's a 666 joke regarding how many games LJN has made. There's also a joke about the Revolution X soundtrack which it's similar to the one in the Megaman Games episode, but actually managed to be very cringey with the voiceover attempting to sing the songs.
  5. The Main Skit: You already knew where was that gonna end up thanks to Part 2, and this part's way too predictable and it's the same shit: About the same as the original LJN Back to the Future NES game, and has the same problems AVGN brought up. Remember the nerd which showed up in the computer in the end of Part 2? He turns out to be The Angry Angry Video Game Nerd Nerd and trashes the game. I kinda get the intention behind the joke and I'd rather have this than my worst case scenario in which James tries to fight Fred Fucks or anything similar, but this is really nothing. There's some forced soulless "noooo" segments by AVGN. It ends with AVGN saying that "Maybe, if you haven't tried something yourself, you don't know how fucking hard it is", which I really hope it isn't supposed to be some jab at those criticising the newer AVGN episodes. AVGN then forgives LJN (wat) and forgives the ones regarded to be the worst LJN games (Bill & Ted for NES, Back to the Future II and III for NES) but still refuses to forgive Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for the NES.
  6. Episode ends, then goes to a two-minute Super Mario Bros. 2-like ending which shows the characters in the AVGN episodes (and even the movie), and thanking the ones who were involved (even mentioning Kyle Justin and Mike Matei too), there's also some joke where some of the text purposely has some spelling mistakes to make fun of the NES games which suffered from that.

Bottom line, man that is really underwhelming for a milestone episode. In terms of enjoyment, this is not the worst AVGN episode at all, but for a milestone episode I can understand why people think this is the worst. If I were to rank the AVGN episodes made this year, this one would probably be at the middle. However, if this is the finale for the AVGN series, I actually don't think it's that bad to end on.

Once again, gonna post the list, crossed out the ones AVGN has covered, and if AVGN has covered something new not in the list, I won't reinclude them:
  • Gotcha! The Sport! (NES)
  • Major League Baseball (NES)
  • NFL Football (NES)

As expected, I don't think he'd cover the Terminator 2 games on PC and Atari ST even though I did check and these two games did have the LJN label on them. (Footage for PC) (0:03) (Footage for Atari ST) (0:07) But maybe that's for the best and probably not worth beating a dead horse about. Also I was wrong, apparently Terminator 2 on Commodore 64 didn't have a mention of LJN or I missed it.

This season is a mixed bag really, some of the episodes are actually fine like the Commodore 64 one, while some of the episodes are actually some of the worst.

Then their opinion on Kyle Justin. They think he and James had a falling out when in reality, Kyle is no longer there for two of the reasons they shit on James for. Those reasons being “No Time” and Muh Kids” due to Kyle’s construction business and him having 4 kids.
This part is the only one I heavily disagree with in your post. Even though I am still skeptical about the theory in which Kyle and James had a falling off, ghosting James off when being invited to play as Spiderman in the Fear and Loathing episode isn't putting a good look. Not even a simple reply that says "Sorry I'm busy" or anything similar.

Do you have proof of that?

He tried to reach out to Kyle and tried to get in touch with him, and just assumed he was just busy. That's it. No mention of a response from him or anything. It's either Kyle just so happened to be very very busy, or Kyle is staying away from Cinemassacre and cutting all ties. Even if it's true that Kyle is really busy, it still won't affect the possibility that Kyle is staying away as there's no mention at all from James about how he and Kyle even kept in touch even after 4-5 years ever since Kyle appeared in any Cinemassacre-related video. I'm obviously not saying Kyle should appear in every single AVGN video there was, my point is if Kyle doesn't even want to keep in touch with James and they met each other since college, something is terribly wrong.

Meanwhile......

4) I genuinely do not know who could replace James Rolfe as the nerd,
I'm perversly hoping that they decide to re-cast Justin as the Nerd, because that's exactly the level of idiocy Screenwave seems capable of.

I'm picturing James tiredly okaying this at a staff meeting with a thousand-yard stare on his face.

IIRC it's either on this thread or another avgn thread I saw it was for the 200th episode it could of been pokemon in which James doesn't have too much to say and Justin takes over to become the next nerd.

I'm pretty amazed they did a subplot about making a shitty game due to "don't have any time", it's zero self awareness that's what the channel has devolved into.
Also the side by side shows that the thing that makes current James so bad at ranting is that he gasps for air before the rant rather than just shrilling it like a fucking nerd.

Edit: Also the "don't be hard on the devs, they didn't have a lot of time" is a shitty consoomerist cope. You sell half made product to children, you deserve what's coming to you.

I wonder if this screen was a last minute addition to address criticisms.
Hell, the whole credits sequence might have been the reason for the delay, but that's speculation on my part.

The whole "making a game" skit was weird and led nowhere. But they kept their word and released the files. I might check them later if I find THE TIME.

The whole thing was pretty blah, par for the course with most of the Slobwave era episodes. Barely anything to even meme on, it’s was just….. there.

The only real laugh comes from James and the Slobs themselves building this up as some amazing thing that James needed weeks and weeks off from everything else to work on. All of that lead to this?

Sadly that creator transitioned and is now called "Mx. Morgan Constance Enby"

Rerez was former Screenwave staff, so who knows what could have happened had he remained involved on the technical side?

I posted this at the start of the year. I did not foresee covid fast-tracking the downfall to a mere year
Cygnus was one of those small channels I rooted for more viewers. Too sad he is a troon now. To be honest, he showed signs of depression in his last videos, where he didn't have the same energy as before.

i know what you mean. I forget what IUPG one it was (it wasn't scripted, but off the cuff), but he sounded mad depressed.

he then went back to scripted IUPG's (claimed he wasn't depressed)...then said he'd start doing less scripted reviews, finally burning out and here we are.

Well, I watched part 3, and I thought it was boring. Not outrageously shit or anything, just boring. He goes so fast through each game that there's barely any time (heh) to point out what's wrong with them and react in a funny way. That was most of the humor of classic AVGN, where as now it has been replaced by jokes and skits that are usually related to what's happening in the game, but are hardly ever funny.

The funniest part to me was the Angry Angry Video Game Nerd Nerd reviewing the AVGN in a sort of self parody.
