Well, shit. Confirmation that Screenwave looks at this thread? I'd say so.
Hey Justin, if you're reading this thread: I had a dream where you went around a bunch of theme parks deliberately trying to break all the rides with your obesity, then I took a massive dump in a tiny novelty toilet that I'm pretty sure wasn't supposed to actually be used. The End.

I probably will, but a big video about all horror related games for the Amiga (Now there's a treasure throve of unheard of games, i'm still discovering cool games for it til' this day) could be neat, he won't be without material to work with atleast.
I wonder what he'd make of Elvira, Waxworks and Temple of the Sci Mutant Priestess.
There's some really nutty shit on the amiga but it's mostly point and click games.

I'm making an official request on my Kiwifarms.com account for information on why I keep seeing year-old video recommendations like this:
faggot and james rolfe.jpg

I refuse to click on them because then Youtube will just keep shoveling more of them down my throat. If this is explained earlier in the thread just negrate me.

I've seen a bit of the new Halloween video and it feels like old James that just geeks out on something autistic rather than the bland stolen material of last year. So is it really back to standard?

I want to believe...

I heard that Justin went into a restaurant and ate everything in the restaurant and they had to close the restaurant

Considering his CD32 video, he's the last one who should do anything Amiga related.

That looks like JustJargon's video: he's a fairly decent milquetoast Youtube lore essayist who covers bigger channels and lost media. I've enjoyed some of his videos in the past. If you're into channels like Cecil McFly and Toad McKinley, then he's the kind of the channel you'd enjoy. He doesn't have an agenda nor SJW takes like Quinton Reviews or any of those tranny furry tea channels -- which means you don't have to worry about him saying newspeak like "Yikes!" or "That's problematic!"

It's been a minute.

James and/or Screenwave went back and retitled these videos as Monster Madness. This is the most pathetic Monster Madness ever. It's worse than the year where he and Mike talked about the movies in lieu of footage.

There's the theory that this video and the other one where he covers some obscure Shudder exclusive I heard literally no one talk about were actually sponsored videos. I could see it. The Werewolf by Night video could have been sponsored as well. Because it is kind of weird that this is one of the best months for Horror in forever and of all the big things people were looking forward to the only thing he covered was Halloween Ends. No video on Barbarian, Terrifier 2, Smile, the Hellraiser reboot or even the Chucky show.

Something something no time for that.

The only videos he seemed actually passionate about were the two about the Halloween movies. The Roger Corman tribute was okay but was a reprieve of things he already covered like The Terror and Carnosaur.

The Spirit of Halloween review is one of his most "nothing" videos since the Saturday Morning Cartoon one. He just gives a synopsis of the movie, that takes up about half of the video, and he goes onto to say it's like the Goonies but it's not very good. Like, why make a video about it then? Oh wait, because it's sponsored.

Edit for deep thunks: I think part of the reason why there's a decline in views for AVGN are the thumbnails. Just look at this shit:

MV5BNjY2ODU4YmUtN2FkYy00YTAzLTlkOGUtZjEyNDBhOTE4ZGJkXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTk1MjA5MjM@._V1_FMjpg_UX1...jpg

MV5BMTJlMmJhMGQtNDVhNy00OTE3LWE1NTAtZTQ5ZDU4ZDdhNjNhXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTk1MjA5MjM@._V1_FMjpg_UX1...jpg

Imagine you're a casual viewer or some dude looking up retro video game bullshit and you see this balding motherfucker in the thumbnail. It's an immediate gut reaction "Ew, I don't want to see some crusty old guy still talking about Nintendo." OR it's "Oh, AVGN is still around? I remember his videos back in the day... Holy fuck he got old! This is sad."

Yes, the videos aren't nearly as good and he just doesn't have the passion for it that he once had. But the thumbnails have definitely contributed to the downward spiral. Unironically, choosing more "tasteful" thumbnails or getting hair plugs would help him.

What's funnier is that a dude predicted the next episode would be about Doom.

It's just such a lazy idea. He's covered Doom before albeit briefly. Plus there's been tons of videos covering weird Doom ports. I think Doom Ports is it's own weird category on YT covering all of the insane cobbled together ports on everything from calculators to home pregnancy tests.

Doom feels like a 2 parter. I doubt James played Final Doom but Doom 2/Final Doom is really something I feel would make a good AVGN episode. Sandy Peterson made some "interesting" levels in Doom 2 and Plutonia was (for the time) a pretty nasty levelset. Would have been more fun for his reactions to the Cyberdemon vs Spider Mastermind fight in Gotch Ya!, whatever the hell was going on in Barrels of Fun, and the chaos seen in Plutonia like the Archvile Maze and Go 2 It. Missed potential overall, not bad, but meh, uninspired. Classic AVGN would have been a bit more brave to cover that stuff.

Jesus God Almighty. And here I thought the cringe was because of Screenwave but this appears to be James' idea because this has big time nerd is the word vibes.

At this point, he should pull a doug walker and just shave it off while growing a goh-t

Damn that bald head jumped massively between episodes. The review itself was okay, in the end looking at different versions of Doom is pointless when they are pretty identical once they went to the next generation of consoles. Some jokes landed alright.
The whole tirade about different ports overstayed its welcome and was too full of made up examples. Ditto why do two parts where the nerd "fights" the game and stick to either the BFG or donning the Doom Armour.

I kinda wish James would have stayed with the helmet from the start until the end.
