Anyone got a torrent like fuck am I paying for that shit.I think for we fans or anti-fans, AVGN: The Movie is worth watching once if you can do so for free.
This can’t even be considered bad anymore, it’s an internet classic that I will return to again and again, by contrast I don’t see anyone nostalgic for the AVGN movie, is it truly that awful, I’ve never seen it and probably never will but is it even worth it as a dumb curiosity with Doug’s movies?
I saw the AVGN movie and was hyped because I loved the series. I was shocked at how cringe it was. Fucking bad the entire time. It's not even close to being checked out just for curiosity sake.Believe me, you don't want your insomnia cured with this. At least Doug's CA anniversary movies will still be remembered as so-bad-they're-good while the AVGN movie will forever just be tortuously boring in the worst possible way.
It was just incredibly dull and stupid. James mentioned putting in tropes during filming and implied them to be ironic but they're played straight faced. Also the main attraction of the movie, the ET review, sucked ass. The tongue-in-cheek shitty effects were alright when you know James has a thing for them and wanted them in his movie but ultimately the movie is a 4.5/10 and is really not worth the time even for a watch for curiosity's sake. What’s OP’s bad about it exactly? Not just technical specifications but the actual quality of the film itself? It looks at the very least funnier and more competently made than Dougs films which I don’t even find so bad their good because I know all the controversy that went in to the production of that film. The AVGN movie isn’t at least made out of a place of ugliness.
Again, the CA anniversary movies are terrible, but they're unironically enjoyable in a so-bad-it's-good way no matter what. The CA anniversary movies made me smile for how bad they are while the AVGN movie made me frustrated, embarrassed and just downright sad inside, even cured my insomnia in some rare cases, because it's so bad and so boring.Never seen the Channel Awesome movies because they look extremely unfunny.
It was played at a recent movie night on the Kiwi Farms channel. I never saw it and I heard it was bad but I was shocked at just how bad it was.Again, the CA anniversary movies are terrible, but they're unironically enjoyable in a so-bad-it's-good way no matter what. The Star Trek fan films posted to YouTube are decent and even the low tier ones in production quality make the Channel Awesome Alumni look like kids making movies in their backyards. With Brad being the exception, his films aren't really good, but they look decent for what they are unlike the rest.Space Cop is the only good youtuber movie because it's what I expected: Mike and Rich just making stupid jokes the entire time and I enjoyed it.
Yeah like there was a part where the main villain of the movie used the fans as leverage for the Nerd and it was to show how virtuous the Nerd is that he wouldn't let his fans get hurt and cares about them so much.It was played at a recent movie night on the Kiwi Farms channel. I never saw it and I heard it was bad but I was shocked at just how bad it was.
There are too many problems to list why it's bad but one thing I think did not help was the AVGN being as "famous" in-movie as he is online. I always thought that the whole Nerd persona worked best as an obscure angry manchild that just so happens to have a large audience in real life but in-universe, was just some nobody that most people didn't know of.
As is, the movie feels like an ego trip and it certainly hurt the film.
I believe Richard Edlund VS His Sons will always be Mike Stoklasa's opus. The only technical flaw with the film is that, if you look closely, you can tell that one of the supposed guns in refrigerator storage was clearly plastic.Space Cop is the only good youtuber movie because it's what I expected: Mike and Rich just making stupid jokes the entire time and I enjoyed it.
The Stupid Mario Bros. Movie would like to have a word with youSpace Cop is the only good youtuber movie
Holy crap I've been looking for this for over a decade. The Stupid Mario Bros. Movie would like to have a word with you
It’s not exactly what you’d call bad, just incredibly mediocre, which in some ways is worse than being bad. At least with a bad movie you can laugh at it and riff on it with your friends MST3K style.is it truly that awful, I’ve never seen it and probably never will but is it even worth it as a dumb curiosity with Doug’s movies?
Doug made a wise move by wearing a hat. Even with no hair at all, he looks the same as he did 10 years ago.The only way James could redeem himself is if he finally shaved his head.
The quickest answer is: it's a testament to James' lack of understanding of what made AVGN succeed after 6 years of making the show and playing the character, a monument to his retardation when it comes to organizing things or making a serious film and finally a self-fellating session. What’s OP’s bad about it exactly? Not just technical specifications but the actual quality of the film itself?
You forgot xenophobia. So what do we even have there?
Except Jason Alexander is still funny, even outside of Seinfeld.Doug made a wise move by wearing a hat. Even with no hair at all, he looks the same as he did 10 years ago.
On the other hand, James is slowly morphing into George Costanza.
A bit late but watching Mike's Final Soldier stream, while very interesting hearing him talk about the series episode by episode, it definitely seems like he has seen or heard criticism regarding the book and James 'not being a real gamer'. He has nothing but praise for him and goes out of his way to stress how some episodes' gameplay was entirely James or how impressed he was with it multiple times.
Really interesting stuff though.
