I rewatched the latest AVGN the Noire tribute one on Deju Vu it's well produced, looks good and is technically high quality but it just really isn't that funny. I felt like a lot of the humor was just meh. Did anyone else feel this way? That it looked great but just wasn't all that funny?

Something like last eight years it's very informative but rarely funny.

Even the AVGN Earthbound review which to me is the best video James has made in probably a decade is only moderately funny. It's well produced and very informative but it's not that funny compared to old AVGN.

It's sad he lost the touch of making jokes land. There's probably a part of him actually experiencing the old content, but even when he claims he played a game before he just exaggerates his reaction too much that it's not funny

I think part of it is that Earthbound and Deja Vu are GOOD games, therefore there is less to make fun of. I agree the production was good on both though.

Sorry to double post, but I just finished watching this. I liked it again. So far Monster Madness has been really good this year. Something I never really expected from James again. I hope he keeps it up.

I've watched some of his streams on youtube recently, and I gotta say he's probably one of the better streamers. His jokes land and he just insults everything.

I somehow missed that you posted this (probably while I was phone fagging past all the posts of people insulting James' wife lately) but it showed up on my youtube feed and I just watched it. Again, not a bad episode and it has the vibe of old MM so I dig it. The movie itself doesn't look like anything I would go out of my way to see. Just my personal tastes though (I've never been into the Jurassic Park series at all either).

Just got around to watching this. Again it's a decent review and has that "old" feel. It's another movie I probably won't bother watching though, just because of personal taste. I never understood why people liked Jaws and the bazillion other variations so much. Also, did Slobwave pick out this year's background?? It is way too bright and busy for Halloween harrar reviews.

It's something you can tell James actually cares about, which reflects in the ones he actually writes himself. Sure, he doesn't have any actual in depth knowledge about film making or anything but you don't always need that. Or maybe my perspective is just skewed from the plagiarism and the fact he watched the Moral Kombat movie muted with subtitles, so this looks like decent content.
