Personally, I'm waiting to see in anything comes from the whole CardPosting thing. I saw his original video was posted in the discord at one point. But I haven't seen Mald mention anything about him yet.
 
Another update announcement that follows the familiar formula of, "pretty much everything is done now, now all that's left to do is to do it". First all the writing for Animus is done, then all that's left for Animus is the writing, then the writing is pretty much done and it's time to "implement" whatever he thinks that means.

Also, now that I've seen HarmfulOpinions' runthrough of the game, the patch notes look absolutely hilarious. If you don't know any better, it looks like this could be various choices to make at critical sections of an RPG. But instead what he listed is literally all the content and all of it happens in the space of like 10 minutes.
Just remember hundreds of millions of Americans wake up every day and do the same thing, moving around pieces of paper and saying "now all that's left to do is to do it".

You can probably even get a job at Blizzard with a can-do-at-some-point attitude like that.

Another cope I've seen is the "I don't wanna show spoilers" argument. Effectively a game dev streamer doesn't want to show code, because he fears people not watching his stream because they may be "spoiled" by the code.


There's some flaws fundamentally with this reasoning that I could dig into. But the one I'll give for why this is stupid is this. The issue for this reasoning is that viewers have only themselves to blame in encountering spoilers in a GAME DEV STREAM. By the mere fact of it being a stream focused on working on a game you're effectively spoiling yourself anyways by even watching the stream. So point being, who cares about spoilers if you're literally streaming yourself working on any aspect of the game.

I have only seen him claim that it's to avoid spoilers. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had said the true reason in an earlier stream, and it would be great to attain a clip of that. It's just like how originally he admitted that he left Blizzard because he was going to be demoted, and later came up with the noble heckin cool story for why he left.
 
OK, so I don't know whether this guy is jumping on the #metoo bandwagon, but he's dumping on Jason for not supporting his petition against big publishers pushing out patents that screw over smaller game companies. A worthy cause indeed.

He approached Jason after the whole WoW and Pvt Parts debacle (he had videos covering them both), so he should really have known that Maldo wasn't in a position to stick his neck out for anyone else.

Anyway, long story short; Maldo ignores this guy till it's too late and he's as useful as a lead balloon after SKG, he tells him politely to piss off and then releases his own 'Nintendo Bad' video (this Run n Gun dude has a hard on for nintendo going down over the patents thing).

Our dollarstore Ross then realises that he's been iced out of any sort of credit and a reach-around from Jason and decides to post this video calling out Maldo for being... well, basically himself.

Nothing he did outside of choosing the engine and genre of game has given credence to his 1337 coding skillz he apparently has on creating an "optimized game." I could go on but he's genuinely retarded for guarding the smartfridge/optimized game shit so hard when it just gives detractors more ammunition.

He could demonstrate Heartbound running on a low-spec device to own the obsessive haters, it'd be trivial to do but he won't do it. He doesn't know how to do it or where to begin.

The fridge thing is retarded because smart fridges often have decent enough setups for the terribly inefficient UIs they come with. Like many embedded systems like those often have 8-16 GB of RAM and some oomph, they're not barebones systems.

It's just a stupid example to use in the first place for any of this on account only that besides the fact "smart fridge" isn't a standardized form factor.

Not really sure how different this is then what he posted last week in the "Spoilers" chat.
The previous version I was tracking had 14 paths, this one has 16. The change is the new 'Emelio' dialogue under Fern > JudgmentY.

It's so fucking cringe how he breaks it down that much just to make volume out of it.
It doesn't even feel like a proper changelog.
Not just because it's spoiler-y, but because it's such a lifeless, convoluted way to present it.
It could have just been something like "Completed lunch routes for Fern and Rhode". Done.

Also, he says

It's been only barely patched versions of 1.0.9 since Feb 2021.
1.0.8 came out in Sep 2019.
 
I fucking hope he does, if I had to translate this piece of shit? I'd probably quit the project without taking the money.
Reason for this is that, the way he coded his dialogue system is that each dialogue window is a new script with a new array with the phrases, so you're going to have to sift through loads of different scripts, it's horrifying.
The coding spergs had their fun, now it's the translation sperg's turn.
Usually, the code's quality doesn't matter to the translators because they won't even get to see it. They're given the game's text separately and it's the dev's job to place the translated text in the correct spot in the game afterwards. Of course, I'm talking about what's usually done in a professional setting, if Mald isn't aware of this he may very well be giving translators access to his code, which just makes me wish them good luck.

Second of all, no one in their right mind would even worry about translations until the project is complete. That's just wasting time and I can't think of anyone retarded enough to break their workflow to run their writing through 6 different translators. No fucking WAY Jason knows 2 languages, let alone all 6. So he's just putting his writing through some automated slop program and delivering garbage translations to his audience.
Nothing new there, I suppose.
Mald's retardation truly hits harder when it's about something you have experience with.

So he's stopping to individually pass every single line of dialogue through a machine translator while writing? With that workflow I'm willing to bet that the end product is gonna be as readable as Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal. And every time he edits old lines he needs to waste time to translate them again. Oh, he went back to change a line of dialogue? Now he has to redo his previous translation. Six. Times.

I know I'm late as fuck, but it would be cool if the companies had their respective logos' colors so it'd be easier to tell which is which. It took me a while to realize War is Activision Blizzard and that Death is Sony.

A man with the professional background of Second Life Porn Asset Salesman would do nothing but furry porn if he would be ever equipped with a VN engine. It's best that he's writing his own engine, however bad it is.
He's using Game Maker, incredibly poorly at that. Game Maker is made to be usable for people with zero programming ability.

I know it's GameMaker but surely he could've programmed the game logic with delta time at 60fps and let the renderer go at it.
