I don't know why he fusses about his 'blockgame' minecraft server so much. It only caters to about 70 players at a time but like 99% of his 'coding' on stream is just this 'game', not heartbound and it's just mostly tweaking shit like item values or asking his chat what a fish item should be called.

He claims this server is gonna be for the base for when he'll make the actual mmo from scratch. Can someone experienced with minecraft enlighten me? Iirc his mmo systems are work arounds built around the fact that minecraft doesn't have some stuff built in. Iirc his game has spells but no mana, I think. He talks like he wants to have mana in his mmo but acts like he cant have it. So why doesn't he just...make them? The addons/plugins? As far I know he uses other people's addons and plugins to bash his server together but for stuff he cant find an addon for, he should be able to just make them, right?

I mean, it's probably because he can't code for shit, but why don't his audience catch that?

this only really happens if youre doing physics heavy gameplay. by any handbook for development this usage of global variables is so much spagetti the game has mama'd its last mia

this global variable is accessed in relevant story points, so this level of efficiency will never, ever matter

EDIT: opinion piece on my end is that i dont really care if you put your entire fucking game code in a global variable and store the entire thing in your user's memory as the most horrible code on earth

just dont claim its "more performant"
