They had the excuse that gaming was still in its infancy at that time. Devs were still trying to figure out what could be done with this booming new medium.
It came out after Super Mario, after Doom, after Quake, after the crash of the 80s, after cRPGs moved from just ASCII symbols to first person to isometric and back to first person now in full 3D, after point and click adventures boomed and then died, after short-lived FMV revolution. When this game came out, Steam was already an established and popular distribution platform. Weird art games such as Museum of Anything Goes, LSD Dream Simulator or Seaman came out long before it.
I wouldn't call it infancy.

Btw, do any coders know if it really runs on a fridge, or if he's just using the fridge as the display?
There's no reason to doubt some fan got a shitty RPG working on a modern smart fridge. It's not much of a flex for the game because "smart" devices like that have tablets in them. It'd be like getting Heartbound working on a point of sale system which is often a cheap tablet nowadays. If it didn't run, then it's on the game, not the hardware.

Have you never played online games on a server with a big BR population? They absolutely are retarded. They also love paying for cheating software en masse. Hate the BR bros, huehuehuehue mordekaiser es numero uno btw
They're kinda like Russians. In online games, they are insufferable and retarded. But when it comes to modding decades old vidya, they're masters at it. Though for Brazilians it's GTA:SA and not S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I can't believe this fucking guy. He's played this same cringey smart-fridge video 10 times already in the past 3 hours. No salary is worth having to listen to this inane nonsense all day. Imagine paying this guy super chats to essentially be tortured.

He is at 780+ bans just today.
819 now(I had to keep editing that number as I wrote this because it kept rising so fast). By posting the amount of people banned each day, and with it reaching upwards of 800-1000 people a day, he's kind of admitting he's pissed off a very large group. That kind of undermines his claim of being in the right.

At this rate he will ban all of his viewers in like 7 days. (He had 5k last time I checked)

So about this, Mald went to DEFCON with ThePrimeAgen, Theo and Luke from Linus Tech Tips. All of them except for Mald (as far as I know) said something about that experience. Mald just said they won and who was his team, but never what they did (unless someone here has some livestream about it).

What Theo and Luke said was that the MVP was ThePrimeAgen, who coded a PDF Reader Script in Python for the Book puzzle (he explains it here). Theo admits being so shit at DEFCON that it helped them going in the right direction. I don't remember what Luke said, I think he just talked about how fun it was.

Both PrimeAgen and Theo said that the only thing Mald did was to solve a Basic Algebra puzzle for them, you know that type of puzzle where you have flowers of different colors, that type of puzzle.

Maybe I'm wrong, but Mald did absolutely nothing that he won't talk about it. He would just say how "they" won.
I've seen a clip where the ferret raper said something about they were in a room with clocks and he took the time from each clock as the answer or some shit and it was coincidently right but the wrong way to have solved it. Maybe that wasn't Defcon but my memory says it was.

Notably, most of his viewers' brains can also run on smart fridges.
