Maybe I'm reading too much into it, and I'm not sure where in the VOD it was but I think there was a point after a few of the Harry Potter clips where Jerma said "Oh boy" or something to that effect in a nervous/annoyed tone when the video popped up.

Given how his chat is I'm surprised he even did Harry Potter content at all and I don't know what he expected to happen other than a sea of FUCK JK ROWLING whenever it came up. I mean, props to him for doing what he wants but when you have that kind of audience expect people to yell at you for dumb shit.

That's what I mean. He didn't have to do the wizard thing at all knowing people would piss themselves over it yet he did it anyway. Unless you mean he did it in an older green screen too back when his chat wasn't as bad, but he didn't have to do it again.
 

Youtube recommended this to me today. Have some classic 2014 goofy Sterma to ease chat's pinkpilling.

Not a huge fan of the Sorcery rerun due to how good the original Sorcery streams were back in 2016. I suppose the 2022 Sorcery streams can be directly compared to the originals to see if chat has truly become a tranny cancer.

Sometimes I get these in my recommended or I go back to his old channel to try and work through old tf2 videos, but within the first 30 seconds I get a sense of dread. 8 Year old content, most comments are from that long ago. Everyone's moved on. Jerma's talking about "THE NEW THING!" that happened so long ago I've developed nostalgia for it, or he's talking about events in his life that seem mundane compared to the shit he gets up to nowadays. I can watch old clips from other content creators fine, I go back to old Vinesauce streams and have a great time. Just rewatched some of Joel's old Windows Destruction streams a few weeks ago. Why's Jerma different?

Because those channels have stayed about the same despite changes and lulls. Jerma is so popular now his old content is like looking at a ghost. You can watch a new joel stream live whenever, but you'll never get an edited jerma main channel vid

I mean, we gotta be real here. Being "mostly neutral leaning to supportive" (publicly, at least) is the absolute best stance any public figure can take to alienate the least amount of people. Someone who is staunchly opposed to anything lgbt is only going to be known for that, and is going to attract a lot of haters. Same thing for being super pro lgbt.
Jerma has taken the best path. He has really only talked about it when absolutely necessary.
I dont think the pandering or cat boy shit is what caused his fandom to be like this. Streamers do insane shit all the time like that. The thing is, Jerma is PERFECT for gen Z people, who have pretty short attention spans usually, and have a tendency to form parasocial relationships. Oh, and a lot of them are lgbt. go figure. Jermas high production streams and the occasional meme bring fans in, his humor and the way his ADHD makes him act is what keeps them around. Maybe it's all an act, or maybe he has been doing it so long now that he is just being himself. To me, a lot of his old videos seem very forced and fake. like he is really trying to impress people.

either way, if hes happy with what hes doing, and hes living comfortably money-wise, thats a good thing.

The best solution would be to ban anyone talking about politics in chat period, but even then you're gonna alienate some people.

Problem is he already has that rule in place iirc. But apparently trans stuff isn't political, despite them always making it a political thing.

Yeah, that's the line that some ecelebs draw and a lot don't. Either you say "fuck off, yes your controversial mental illness counts as politics and it isn't allowed in chat" or you bow down and tow the line saying "human rights aren't political." It's clearly bad-faith when you make it your entire personality and try and provoke people who just want to watch a guy play vidya without weird sex stuff, but you can't really say that nowadays on these platforms.
