Jerma985 - Because fuck it, let’s get a Jerma thread going. Meow.

I feel like this thread has gotten very negative (and I've contributed to that), so to try and balance it out a bit I'm posting one of my favorite Jerma moments (from one of my favorite games no less), feel free to do the same! I'm sure there's some great stream that's flown under my radar and I'm always looking for more shit to watch while working.

The FEAR stream (or at the very least a long edit) is definitely worth watching. To me, it's the perfect combination of Jerma not knowing how to play a game that has tons of potential for comedy, and the interaction with chat is from a sweet spot in time before it all kinda went to parasocial shit.
Clock Tower 3. I love that fucking game and watching Jerma lose his shit at the crazy mo-capped sad cut scenes makes me cry laughing.

Jerma clips for Nice Innocent Goofy Giggles Ensuing Rapid Snickering. (Ft. Chat)

I used to watch Jerma, but I haven't watched his content in years. He's a genuine, creative, and entertaining individual in the sea of mediocrity, creeps and dullards that compose the streaming ecosystem. His event streams have been some of the most ambitious projects for a streamer to take on and he is fully deserving of the awards he received from them.

I didn't stop watching because of the steadily shifting audience (although it's a real shame it's become as cringe and desperate as it has). It was just because of the edited 2ndJerma highlights becoming hour long extravaganzas that I didn't have the time for. The earlier videos were manageable, but it just started to become ridiculous when they mutated into long form content.

The cuckoo analogy is on point. And there is only so much you can do when the majority of your audience are sensitive losers who are spending every waking minute trying to sexualise you and force you into their fantasy world of make believe. It's a miracle he hasn't caused a meltdown yet and I suspect he spends untold amounts of mental energy making sure he doesn't say anything too triggering.

Honestly, I just wish him the best and hope that he manages to move onto bigger and better things before he's devowered by his increasing hugbox of a fan base.

He lucked out by only garnering a retarded fanbase in the very late stages of his career. Man is 39 now, and given his disease it's no surprise he's semi-retired.

I know a lot of farmers hate Ludwig but I'm glad he gave Jerma a BTS gig where he could use his creativity without having to deal with trannies gooning to him. Wish Jeremy the best, he's a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.

I don't know much about Ludwig other than every time he was next to Jerma he looked incredibly unfunny and untalented. I also doubt that Jerma would have "retired" had it not been for the position Ludwig gave him but maybe that is the lesser of two unfortunate situations, considering the other would be continued languishing under the yoke of his trannified audience.
How much has Jerma even done for Ludwig? I'm not even clear exactly what his position is.

"Chief Creative Officer" working alongside Ludwig, better known as "Professional Best Friend".
Something that will always stick with me is how Dollhouse took a turn for the painfully awkward after Jerma got "voted" out of the show and it was just Ludwig in his maid costume for a bit. That shit was awful. Comedy just isn't his thing, ESPECIALLY not improv.

Since the last post in the thread, there's been at least three streams of note, 3do games part 4. 5, and 6.

I hadn't been paying attention to his schedule recently, what is this now close to 1 stream a week? That seems to be kind of out of nowhere after his various gimmick streams.

The last 3do stream was over 4 years ago before part 4!

More like 5 streams a quarter. He is pretty much retired at this point. He's doing other things and just does streaming now and then when he feels like it.
Probably for the best cause his audience was becoming insufferable.

Absolutely was the best outcome of what was coming. Better to go out top than get a bunch of troons trying to ruin you.

Ludwig is a retarded commie so no surprise.

It was at that, and then out of nowhere it seems he decided to try and finish off the 3do catalogue. Wonder where this sudden energy to stream is coming from. Heard a bit of his health update and it still doesn't seem great. That's part 4 on Nov 20th and through to part 6 just last week.

Post Thanksgiving going into Christmas holidays. Probably not a lot going on right now in the event planning business for streamers as everyone is doing things for the upcoming holidays so he has some free time.

Crosspost from a lolcow thread:
It appears Offbrand is shutting down the event branch. Which is what Jerma was working in I believe.

half of the offbrand business is shutting down, the games division is still sticking around but the events side of the company is shutting down.

Looks like @Toolbox gets an even more clear answer to his question.
Kind of a surprise not surprise I suppose? A shame as I'd really like Jerma to just have a job he can do fun stuff with for streamers. He definitely has a passion for the stuff.
I'm sure he's fine either way money wise

You just learned all you need to know about Ludwig. Seriously Tho, I miss Jerma and I really wish his fanbase had not ever got infected with a bunch of troons and faggots. Here is to the good times boys.

Since were posting favorite streams and stuff, I figure I'll throw mine into the ring.

It's insanely hard to nail down my favorite Jerma stream but I think I have to give it to The Thing. Between the Jermathing face, him hosing down a squadmate who was just vomiting and running across super obvious things in disguise, it is the funniest he's done imo.

Since that thing he was working at for Ludwig is down now, I ponder if he'll come back. Hope he at least does a stream of The Thing; Remastered.

Reposting this here because it's Jerma related:
offbrand, an event production company (co-)founded by large streamer/commentator Ludwig, has announced its shutting down operations and trying to find new work for their staff.

offbrand was comprised of ex-Beyond the Summit staff, an event production focusing on e-sports events, Luwig plus associates and Jerma as a creative director. Here is a video form Ludwig announcing the company and its plans.
If you've watched any major livestreamed event(s) by YouTubers or Twitch streamers in the past year there is a decent chance that offhand had a hand in creating that event. Think streamer awards, the CDawgVA charity auction and more. Event management is a tough business requiring great upfront capital for risky investments, much of the events where funded out of pocket by Ludwig who could leverage extra cash from his lucrative YouTube streaming deal. This deal has since come to pass probably making cash on hand an ever-growing issue.
I should note that offhand productions has not been under Ludwig's management for some time as he sold the company to its employees earlier this year. The big idea here was that offbrand could stand on its own and disconnected from Ludwig the celebrity, as Ludwig has stated multiple times that he intends to retire in a near future.

Offbrand was one of a few different entrepreneurial endeavors by Ludwig. While I have no doubts that some here will not feel much sympathy purely because you disagree with the kind of person he presents himself to be online, I myself will applaud his efforts in trying to expand past the boundaries of "just being a YouTuber". Plus, people losing their jobs is never a fun time.
Final note, while offbrand productions is now closing shop the games publishing company offbrand games will remain operational, currently helmed by Jason Thor Hall (PirateSoftware)

Do let me know if this is the right thread for this kind of news, there is a bunch of random Youtube general threads scattered all over the site.

i remember finding him on youtube early on and picking up tf2 because i thought being jacked and playing tf2 was rad as hell
good smoothie recipe too for post-workout, always thought the guy was a good role model because of that
shame he moved on to twitch, could never understand why i'd want to watch someone else play a game for 4 straight hours when i could be playing vidya for 4 straight hours instead

My favorite Jerma streams will always be any of the From Software games. He just becomes an absolutely god tier funny man anytime he streams one of them. They always have that perfect mix of rambling, comedy bits and rage.

And the motivational speaker bit at the end of his Dark Souls 3 playthrough will forever be my favorite jerma bit of all time.

The newest TF2 comic reminded me that the scout's official name is Jeremy, did that ever get actually confirmed to be a reference to Jerma or was it just coincidence? It would be one hell of a coincidence if so.
A few years ago when VNN did an interview with people that worked on the adult swim show, they claimed that it was a jerma reference.
