From what I understand the current troon drama in the UK (Which is absoutely nothing compared to the drama going on in parliament with Boris the PM) is that schools want to teach gender issues to kids without informing parents what the actual teaching material is and if a child comes out as trans they want to encourage it (Without any offical diagnoses, just whatever they identify as), such as using their new chosen name and pronouns while being able to keep it a secret from parents.

Nobody cares if a fat middle aged man wants to prance around in a wig dressed like a fat drag queen.

In the context of a content creator to the general public, that makes him a bit of a joke. But what if those same behaviours were not just limited to the way he interacts with his fans and haters on social media, but also in his private life? I'm not saying anything for certain, we'd need to wait for news to come out if what I'm saying has even a kernel of truth to it. But that same victimising behaviour and willingness to use anger as a tool to either get what he wants or push his view while shaming another might make him a lolcow to the public, but an extremely manipulative and abusive partner in private. It's not uncommon for abusers to be angry people who try to play the victim.

I see where you're coming from, but I seriously doubt it in Jim's case. I think Jim is much more like a Peetz, where all the anger and venom he expresses online is the pent up frustration he could never take out on people irl because at his core he is a spineless pussy.

Someone like Pat Tomlinson, Spoony, Dick Masterson I could absolutely see being an emotional abuser/manipulator, (in fact I all but guarantee it in Pat's case,) but I imagine off-camera Jim is completely subservient and does whatever he's told by anyone who tells him, because he is a man utterly defeated by life.

This is the textbook example of a man who submits to anyone he considers stronger/better/higher up than himself, and then unloads his frustration on anyone he considers below himself. That's likely why he became a troon and joined the self-righteous leftoid clique. Makes him part of the perceived "upper" strata and gives him plenty of other people to look down on and treat like shit (gamers, etc).

I remember when I used to watch him he had some sense of style to his show, used to have that whole dictator-y design to the outfit and an overblown ego, he was obviously playing a character, he used to stand out and was pretty unique, yeah the guy was a fat fuck, but atleast he had style and pazazz. Now he's just fat and has no style or personality, he literally has nothing going on for him, even his takes are as lukewarm as room temperature water.

I think it's more of number 2 than number 1. Just to speculate further on reasons for leaving the UK, didn't Jim mention "back taxes" in a tweet listed somewhere back in this appropriately massive thread? Not necessarily as a reason for leaving, but in some negative context like things he wouldn't miss about The Staiyytes. Not sure if anyone ever dug into that. I can see Jimbo being so greedy and/or lazy that he didn't declare his Patreon income to evil white supremacist terf taxman, either through ignorance or by design. Null mentioned on stream recently (or years ago, dunno as I am going through the archives and not necessarily in order) that the US is one of only two countries that taxes their citizens even when they are not resident there, so how does this work for Jimbelina? He must still be paying back taxes (an oddly specific thing for him to mention if not) and as he gave up his Terf Island prisoner card in exchange for US citizenship isn't his Patreon and other income still taxable under the US system rather than the UK one?

Now, though, we see that wasn't really a character at all - he really does think people should thank god for him.

It was a character, but eventually the character consumed the man. It's actually really common among YouTubers and streamers to lose themselves to their character after enough years. It results in a void where the person was, as the character is never enough to fully fill that void. Then we see them get weird. Some Troon out, some spiral into depression, some start becoming assholes when they weren't before, some cling to ideologies they never normally would, some give into the worse parts of themselves, and a lot develop drug and alcohol addictions.

Being a YouTuber takes a certain amount of ego, same for anyone else who puts themselves out there, but most people know every YouTuber who has a character they play, knows that isn't the real person when they set out. It is usually some subsection of themselves, traits that are entertaining to see put out on display minus the rest of them, turned to 11.

I was there for those early episodes. When his initial 10 episode trial run was looking like shit. Everyone, myself included, shit on the scared, nervous, bumbling baffoon of a man, he figured out how to put together a look, the basics of a set, everything that defined him up until he swapped to the "ringleader" persona with the corset tophat over those episodes based on our mockery of what didn't work. When he still was getting shit on though, he snapped, he stopped being nice to his viewers and threw shit back and came out with the "Thank God for me" thing and it worked. That raw disdain for the viewer, that unshackled arrogance born of knowing his current trajectory set him to not get any more episodes after that trial run was up, that was fun, it worked so well the escapist extended his run beyond the trial. He eventually evolved into the failed banana republic dictator act, and it was good. As time went on though, the character overwrote the man playing it, but he was fine until he tried to change the character and there was no man to inhabit the new character. After that we saw how pathetic he became, and Jim wasn't that enviable to start.

That's a fair point, I guess what made it seem like a character was him playing it off as a joke, now he seems to have given up on trying to be funny about it and just seems to be so openly self absorbed, which is a shame, a little bit of humility/humor can go a long way in making someone likable.
