John Wick isn't meant to be taken seriously

The worst thing about John Wick 3 was just how many boring parts there were.

The first one was clever enough to portray its atmosphere and plot in a way that was fairly believable. Up until the 2nd one it was more or less okay, by the 3rd one it went off the rails.

While this movie franchise collects a lot of "wOw tHiS iS sO uNrEaLiStIc YoU gUise" criticism, if you subscribe to the theory that its a portal fantasy, and that John is an ex-Wizard who stepped back into the Muggle Realm after falling in love with a Mortal Woman it becomes a lot more enjoyable in a magical sort of way.

Seeing the news about that long gestating "Ballerina" spinoff, Ana de Armas was the main reason why her scenes in No Time To Die were the only fun part but I'm not confident.

I recently came across a "John Wick's Ballerina" "proof of concept" action practice short posted by action choreographer Vlad Rimburg a few years ago, a lot of these indie stunt teams and action filmmakers make these sort of shorts to show off what their people can do and I'd be surprised if there was a sequence in the actual Ballerina film, if it ever does come out, that had direction like these four minutes.
