Finally read the two chapters, liking this start so far. It so far it’s looking like it’ll be a return to the classic road trip formula. I like that the Stands we’ve seen so far have powers that are actually simple and clearly understandable at face value, yet open-ended enough to have creative applications during fights. Jodio has more of a personality in these two chapters than Giorno has in all of Part 5, lol.

Design-wise, Dragona is obviously supposed to be based on Anasui, right? They both have feminine/androgynous designs, their stands both have similar stylized D’s on their foreheads, and their stand abilities are both based around re-arranging matter, including body parts. That can’t just be a coincidence. Makes me wonder if we’ll get a prison arc where an AU Jolyne gets introduced.

Noticed Jojoland was a thing and finally mustered the will to get back into Jojolion which I kind of just dropped between being up to date and the whole pursuit of "the head doctor" being a bit of a mess.

Keeping in mind it's been fucking years since I read the last of Jojolion, impressions are:

That it's weak as fuck. Started strong, Parfait chapter and battle of the beetles were fucking ace. But this last batch of 20 something chapters was honestly ass. Tooru is a piece of shit villain, the fucker generated 0 interest. His stand is cool at least, but his actual design is ass and he is just "there". Josuke I also gave very little fucks about, very low personality, right there with Giorno. The secondary cast was also a letdown when it's usually one of the highlights, Yasuho was a solid winglass and Paisley Park was a pretty cool stande but... the other dude was mostly just sort of there, and the only Higashitaka's that did anything relevant as allies where the family head and Tsurugi. Outside of Jobin being a fantastic villain till he was not, the rest higashitaka's didn't add that much to anything (was funny to see the creepy bowl cut fucker end up with a creepy baby arm).

Also, the moment where characters just started dropping dead left and right at top speed was jarring. It felt like he was starting to get overwhelmed and just wanted to get shit done, so started removing pieces at top speed. Keeping in mind I read Stone Ocean ages ago and haven't gotten to watching the anime, Jojolion I rate very low, at Stone Ocean level (though it may get redeemed a bit in the anime like Vento Aureo ended up getting redeemed a bit). The ending itself with the "choose a cake JoJo" was a pure "what the hell am I reading" moment and I still am unable to process what the fuck that's about. Also, my poor man Joseph getting done dirty in the alternative line... not a single Josephism to be had outside of Hermit Purple.

As for Jojoland:

Read first two chapters, I like what I'm seeing for now, the stands are all very cool design and powerwise (special mention to junkie guy and his incredibly derpy stand). The actual character designs are fine for the most part, but I hate how the Dragona being a "tranny" will ruin all fucking internet discourse outside of this forum and even thought that the boss lady would also be a much less endearing tranny representation.

That Jodio happens to be a fucking psycho, knows it and doesn't seem particularly bothered about it is also pretty neat. I rather have a nutcase than another bland plank of wood, Jotaro was the only one capable of pulling off the stoic badass, all others have failed miserably at that. I do hope his name isn't shitty foreshadowing for being related to Dio, let the meme monster rest in peace. Also, what really got me hyped is Rohan being back, I am so intrigued on if he has Heaven's Door still or if it's going to be something completely different and if for some godforsaken reason he has special knowledge of shit or not.

Finally caught up just to say this past Sunday, my brother and I finished Part 6. Real trippy stuff, I honestly am fine with the ending. I think it sucks that it took them a full year to release it instead of just doing the weekly release for our JoJo Fridays, especially since it killed discussion pretty quickly, but it was probably for the best. I keep my head out of the online fandom, and I didn't want to see their bullshit during Part 6 anyway, so the fact that no one was really going on about it must've helped me not feel like I was "missing out" or whatnot.

I'm gonna give DP 'til 2026 before we hear word of Part 7 being in the works. I imagine they'll need all the time in the world to get things put together since that's the part everyone's going to be watching like a hawk. I just hope they don't pull the same shit they did with SO again, week-to-week works best with JoJo. Netflix can do weekly releases, I believe, so they should just do that the next time around. I don't want to wait a full year again before watching it on my own time, really threw the MoJo JoJo off.

Also by that time, my bae should be fully caught up with JoJo so the two of us can watch it together. I liked watching JoJo with my brother, but life moves on and such y'know.

At the edge of my seat waiting for Rohan to jump into action because I jut know it'll be totally nuts. My guess is he has Heaven's Door but somehow modified so it's not just a retread of the Part 4 version. That or Araki thought of more creative ways to utilize it without having to change its power.

I'm more curious about the cat. It looks like it has a version of Jolynes powers and we know it's from a third party. There might be a Jojo v Jojo fight.
 
Honestly I love how goofy this cast is, it feels like they’re actually just a bunch of Zoomers especially with how Jodio walks past Rohan while he’s swimming.
