Yeah its kinda funny how he was faking it in Part 4,
Less of "faking" more just people taking his weird personality and him ranting about shit as him being senile when he always did that.
I know I'm late as shit to the party, but did anyone else feel like the complete lack of men in stone ocean was off-putting?

I know it's a meme that it's a gay anime but, you honestly don't notice the fact that you miss the men until they are truly not there - I didn't even dislike Jolyne, it's just an honest to god unexplainable feeling, as I lack the words for it, that there not being men there feels like something is wrong.
WHERE THE FUCK IS MICKEY?

Do Weather, Anastasia, and Emporio not count or something?

Also most of Stone Ocean takes place in a women's prison, and most of the main cast are inmates there. Would you rather they added a troon?

Would you rather they added a troon?
One of the guys used his stand to briefly make himself look like a woman and because people on social media are retarded they assumed it was a retconned out of existance lesbian thing or something that was "forgotten".
That's about as close as you're gonna get to them having a troon I think.

Dragona's a trap all the time, though I don't think he counts either, because he's as sane as you can expect from a Jojo character.

Dragona is a weird case since for now no one knows if they are trans, an extreme crossdresser (since who the fuck would go out of their way to buy implants), or as many people believe, a māhū (third gender in Hawaiian culture that means "Half-Man, Half-woman").

We'll probably get an answer later in the story. Right now there are other priorities.

My headcanon is that Anasui is just Araki's take on an Elegant Elliot type and considering Diver Down's abilities the joke of F.F. making her tits bigger could've been done by Anasui too. Green Dolphin was low security, so it wasn't really gendered per se.

I stopped hanging around certain circles where suggesting Dragona was anything but trans was deemed ban-worthy. Even if he (pronoun used for the translation I'm reading) is trans I hate worshipping just over that.

Does part 9 still suck like part 8?
I'm having a hard time engaging with it, maybe it's just a side effect of the monthly release schedule.

We're 1 year in and it feels like the plot has just now begun to move along. Part 8 also took a long time to finally get going and it only ever started turning to shit after they killed off Tamaki Damo (~50 chapters in).

Yeah it probably doesn't help that for many people, this is their first Jojo part from the beginning. Like the part probably is going to end in 2029-2033 given how long Part 7 and 8 took.

Holy shit I am such an old man. Part 7 was my first part from the beginning, and that was back when Jojo’s was still super obscure.
Same, I was up to date in the first quarter of steel ball.

Jojolands I've only read like 4 chapters, but mi general impresion with jojo is that it's fine to binge in bursts but horrible to consume up to date (Hajime no Ippo is the same). Since I don't feel a burning need to be up to date, I'll let it simmer for another year I guess.

My only question as of now is if it's entertaining even if it hasn't hit it's stride yet.

For me, when I got into Jojo, Jojolion was in the Blue Hawaii arc

Personally I think Jojolands is entertaining the way it is, but it really depends on if you enjoy the monthly schedule.

Glad I'm not the only one. I was so excited for it to come out, but now that it's here I've barely kept up and haven't even looked at the last four or five chapters. Nothing's really stuck with me so far, I can't even remember the names of any characters or Stands.

Except good ol' Rohan, of course.

Anything that isn't at least as good as 7 is going to be a step down for me, but I do agree it's taking its sweet time to ramp up. I actually hope Araki decides to do a tenth part and not end things on 9 because it would feel like an anticlimax at this point.

JoJolion was 10 chapters in when I started, crazy it's been that long.

I don't know about that man. Part 8 got so iffy quality wise people were straight up theorizing dude had a stroke while writing it. Personally I still somewhat enjoyed it, but it was the first JoJo part that I wouldn't call at least "good".
We had a good run, I wouldnt mind if the dude called it quits after Part 9 (he'll also be well into his 70s by then).
