Yes, start watching by the part with the daughter of the grandson of the grandson of the first protagonist where she fights the priest man slave of the 200 year old dead vampire antagonist that ends in a universe reset
Correction they tried to get people to start with Stardust Crusaders, which is better than Mother's Basement's idea for a watch order. But it's still dumb since Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency set the foundation and weight to the conflict with Dio.

Polygon tried to do a Mother's Basement style "watch order" and as you'd expect, they were rightfully ratioed.

The tweet in question had replies claiming that the only reason to watch this and not the other Jojos was because of “representation“ regarding the female cast.
They tried to say that Jolyne is non-binary

I already knew this would happen with culture war warriors trying to hijack discussion of Part 6 to promote their political agendas. I’ve seen people on Twitter act like Stone Ocean is feminist propaganda or act like it’s the only good part with well written characters because of the diverse cast, and not to mention both making shit up to justify each other’s persecution complex.

I’ve seen people claiming that Foo Fighters should be considered nonbinary because she’s a colony of plankton, so we better get ready for more shit takes from Twitter.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Foo Fighters would totally fit for what Tumblrinas call a system. One identity, sure, but FF is legion

The best response came from a David Production parody account:

Moving here instead of the general anime thread, I realized that the biggest fault with part 5 is how static it is. You have interesting shit in the beginning, only to be "get to the church and beat the assassins on the way" and then "get to rome and beat the other assassins on the way". Even part 3, which can be argued to be "get to Dio" for the entirety at least had a lot of varied locales, the only interesting location in part 5 I can remember is the fight on the train.
Also a plot point in part 5 that never comes out is that Diavolo's daughter importance was that her stand was theorized to contain hint on Diavolo's stand only for it being completely unrelated when it comes out.

To me Part 5's biggest problem is how bland Giorno is. Nigga doesnt get much in the sense of a personality and his motivations are lacking IMO, he wants to be a gangstar because he thinks its cool and he wants to do good, thats about it. Buciaratti is the real MVP with the MC energy.

I don't think it was the stand that made Trish important but rather the fact she was his daughter to begin with since in Jojo, family members have some sort of psychic connection to each other where they can find each other's presence which is why Diavolo was paranoid of Trish, well that and how he really doesn't want really any trace of himself to be known.

Yeah like I do like Part 5 but Giorno feels more like a background character to everyone else in the part especially Bruno who felt more like a main character. It doesn't help that people who defend Giorno usually fall back on shit like "OH HE HAS THE BEST TRAITS OF JOHNATHON AND DIO!" which really just is bad since that makes it clear that Giorno can't stand on his own along with the whole "he inspires people to take action" which to me is just a lazy writing tool to justify really boring characters. It's ironic the best part of Giorno narratively is with how he is shown to have not fallen into fate like DIO's other kids by not engaging in the Joestar and Brando conflict which made him better off in comparison. Though it says alot about him that the best part is highlighted in a part he never appears in.

It felt kinda better that giorno was like the support for the group and it doesnt focus on the combat. Since part 5 focuses on the relationships between the characters.
Through Arakis flaws in writing systems , powers and stories hes ALWAYS a master at writing believable relationships between characters (mostly males).
It also made sure that Giorno wasn't reduced to a heal slut at the same time asserting that hes the mc

It's gotten pretty consistent in Jojo that side characters get more screentime than the heros (Polnareff, Koichi) but Girono lags behind both Buciaratti and Mista. Plus Giorno simply feels unnecessary, his history has nothing to do with the plot (that doesn't revolve around Joestar family this time), his power is inconsistent even with the show's creative interpretation of the rules and his goal is being second fiddle to Buciaratti.

Unrelated, but this made me realize part 6 doesn't have a team healer yet but the wounds the heros suffer are fucking ridiculous and they seem to shrug it off immediately when the fight ends.

Just finished watching Part 6 (what is out anyway), I liked it, I'm just now realizing that Araki loves to pull the "oh no X character is dead, wait lol no, he ain't dead... let's kill him for real this time lololol"

So how're the subtitles on Netflix? Is there no fuckery, and the Stands have their proper names this time around without skirting around copyright? Is it also completely uncensored?

With the first six episodes, there is unfortunately still fuckery with stand names but that seems to be a common thing with official Jojo translations since even the games had these changes. Blame Prince for causing this panic with how he gets crazy with copyright when anyone references his songs or names which fucked over localization for the Part 5 PS2 game.

But there is nothing censored in regards to blood and such. There are some cuts but it's the usual types of cuts DP makes to make the pacing faster, but there are some changes that seem to be done for story reasons.

Part 6 Opening was posted to WB Japan Anime

Freaking incredible Intro, love the art style and the swooping camera angles and clever transitions, Girl Jojo all look great come to life in 3D, the song is kind of mixed but I’m sure it’ll grow on me in a years time. 8.5/10
