Steel Ball Run anime has been all but confirmed to be announced in April

Mind you this is the same event that had the announcement for Stone Ocean's anime adaptation.

So SBR could possibly come out in 2025.

Hopefully they learn to not have a batch release but I won't hold my breath.
I'm still sad about how bad the Stone Ocean anime was, I pray this isn't also Netflix.

I mean the Stone Ocean anime by itself was fine, it's just Netflix butchered the release schedule.

Realistically Netflix is going to release it but hopefully they learned from the backlash to make it weekly since people like that

It didn't help that at the time of Stone Ocean's release, the production of David Production was hectic due to a lot of staff changes, putting a lot of their people to work on the Urusei Yatsura remake, and COVID happening during the process.

They lazily dub-named "Flaccid Pancake" to "Limp Viscuit," cut "Where the fuck is Mickey?" without even trying to find a no-copyright way around it, and they/themed plankton waifu.

I mean the bad localized stand names are just an English thing due to fear of copyright that isn't unique to Part 6 like "Worse Company"

Also given Disney's history of being very petty with legal issues, it is very understandable to not want to poke the bear.

As for FF, I mean she is a colony of plankton so they/them is correct by technicality of multiple plankton being inside a person. It's also not really that big a deal, it isn't like FF is turning to the camera in the anime to lecture people about being non-binary or something

New Chapter for Part 9 dropped and got a new set of minor antagonists

Key West (Hat Lady) is a Lawyer

Laem Chabang (Bald Lady) is a Cop

Ningbo (Man) is a Firefighter

Nah, that was a hilarious one. I also do appreciate that the localization team will utilize homophones when they're able to. Like Made in Heaven becomes Maiden Heaven.
The homophone localizations are great since they don't sound embarrassing or too dumb, its a neat way to avoid copyright lawyers.

It's why I can't be mad at the localizers in this specific case. It's pretty clear they'd keep everything the same if there wasn't a big risk of being sued. At least they try to keep the spirit of it when possible. Flaccid Pancake being taken out was a real bummer, though.

D4C has a treasure trove of amazing dub names.
That said, Filthy Acts At A Reasonable Price or bust.
Indeed, I have heard that one. It would be hilarious if they end up calling it that in the anime...
But Limp Bizkit was called Flaccid Pancake in some versions, and we know how disappointing that one ended up in the dub @_@ Here's hoping they end up doing something at least as funny.
