Speaking of the JoJo event: They're doing a radio event for it. The voice of every Joestar so far will be on it, and it'll change monthly. This month we have Jonathan, and the first episode has the voice actor of Speedwagon as well. Next month will be (young) Joseph, January will be Jotaro, March will be Josuke (4th), and then it'll end in April with Giorno.

Here's the first episode with English Subs.

So I haven't posted in here for like over a year 'cause it actually took me a year to get past episode(s) 8-13 of Part 5. Legit am confused as to why it was I just stopped watching before hitting a third of the way in because my brother and I have decided to just start again with the part and I forgot how much fun JoJo can be. Think it helps the episodes I downloaded ended up being the Blu-Ray sub so it was rare to hit the Crunchyroll subs and get taken aback by their quality.

But uh, where was I... yeah, I dunno why I wasn't feeling so strongly about Part 5. I get why it's polarizing since the establishing episodes are so fast-paced that it's easily exhausting, and maybe it was burnout on my part, but there's still a lot of awesome moments. Grateful Dead was freaky, everything about them being on the train was tense and made me squirm, like is it just me or have casualties been through the roof in this part? I assume it gets even worse in future parts, but it's crazy how much civilians just outright die just from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Think more civilians have been hurt/killed in Italy than in Egypt lmao. Guess I shouldn't be surprised given it's about the literal mafia.

If I had to pick a favorite Stand, I think thus far, Sticky Fingers is the Stand I like the most out of the entire line-up (that's been animated). Cool design and powers, and there were a lot of clever asspulls strategic comebacks using it. Also this may be because I'm a bit musically retarded, but I associate the piano portion of Giorno's theme with Bruno Bucciarati the most even though he has his own theme. It's just too perfect and sexy. (Also I'm not the only one who thinks Bruno has Eva pieces in his hair, right? Like just bleach his hair and he's a masculine Rei. I'm sleepy from watching ten episodes in one sitting shuddup.)

Bro and I will be finishing up the part tomorrow even though it's getting heavy like hnnnngh. Had we started just an hour sooner, we'd have seen the finale by now. Favorite JoJo's still Joseph, gonna take a lot to change my mind.

Part 5 was probably the hardest part for me to watch. I mean holy shit, it was fucking incredible. It was an absolute fucking rollercoaster. Like I've said, I think Part 5 is the most emotionally brutal out of all the parts. I mean it really plays up the emotional impact of every character death and if I'm being honest, I cried over every one. I like to joke that Araki said "since I can't kill dogs, I'll kill the main goddamn characters". Dude reads absolutely chaos to me.
Lil' Bomber/Aerosmith is probably my favorite Stand from Part 5
(yes, I watched the dub, and yes, I may possibly be slightly biased towards Narancia since he's my favorite character of Part 5).
I also like some of the English names better than their original names. Might be kind of a bad take but I like "Zipper Man" more than "Sticky Fingers".
Narancia has a pretty cool theme, though.

Forgot to mention this moment because it was late, but in the beginning of episode 18, Dad walked in to head out on the front porch, looked at the TV (at this point in the episode)

and then asked my brother and I "What's with the gay people?"

And here I naïvely thought Dad could potentially like JoJo because numerous characters and Stands are named after his favorite bands, it's '80s as fuck, and of course the end of Stardust Crusaders with the "Weird Al" Yankovic send off.

This was never posted here, but Cosmonaut made a shitty video on Why he doesn't like JoJo. It's horrible takes & really misinformed
Given his defense for the Sequel Trilogy, I am glad that I don't watch this guy regularly

Also I am going to wait a bit before getting into Part 8, all I know of it are the spoilers that come out each month which make me more interested to read the part. The funniest thing about Part 8 is how much the "Araki Forgets" crowd is getting BTFO recently because they can't wait for the part to finish to spam the "HAHA ARAKI FORGOT ME SMARTER THAN HIM!"

My biggest gripe from the past 2 or 3 years or so involving jojo was finally getting into Jojo as a whole despite being reccomended it for like way over a decade. I had vague memories of seeing part of the anime OVA miniseries at some point in my life, but it was one of those weird ones where I wasn't entirely sure if it was a real thing I watched or not for a while. There's so many dumb fuckers out there that either never read the thing or completely disregarded what happened in the story, woobifying some of the more eccentric or morally questionable guys in the series, when in reality said characters could and probably would fucking rip of your face for the hell of it. I think the explosion in popularity a few years ago of n already popular series to the point where it got extremely obnoxious mightve had a bit of an effect on my procrastination on "getting around to checking it out" even worse, and It's one of the few times that's actually happened with me.

Something that really pisses me off is how within the year of 2020 alone jojo merch prices have suddenly gone through the roof and official reissues of figures are releasing at scalper prices from retailers. The only articulated figure I've been able to grab was the white variant of yoshikage kira, but now that one's been bumped up to absurd scalper prices as well.
What makes that situation worse is there's no an entire subgenre of youtube video where people essentially brag about paying over 100 dollars for the things when they're worth about 50 or 60 dollars. They're really good at translating the 2d art to 3d, but they don't have the QC of a figure that would normally cost over 100 dollars, let alone 60. Common complaints about the figures are that joints are too floppy or the neck peg breaks when trying to change the heads. There's also minor paint defects that show up at times, and even my figure that I got for 50 has 2 or 3 spots where the paint kinda fucked up. Kinda wish I had felt the need to get these a few short years back when they were 50 dollars and freqently went on discount for 30.
We are in a timeline where the only affordable jojo figures are nendoroids, and even then that's a questionable statement because some of those get bought up and scalped to hell like Jotaro and Dio.
I've recently gotten the 2 part 4 Nendoroids I ordered early this year, so now I can have kira terrorize manlet versions of josuke and rohan. I also managed getting a mista due to the fact his preorder bonus is literally a part to let him hold his gun like he's shooting it. Wouldve gotten the other part 5 Nendoroids if bad coincidental release timing, money, and scalpers really liking main protagonists didn't get in the way.

This message is reaching a bit too much text for my liking, so I'm going to bring this shit up and stop before I go rambling off on 50 more tangents.
As cheesy as the original part 3 miniseries anime's voice acting can get, and the fact that it skips over some stuff, I really like a lot of things about it. A lot of the scenes where Dio uses The World's timestop and You see things from the perspective of the other characters are genuinely fucking spooky, and overall captured the vibe somewhat better than the newer adaptation of part 3.

In all honesty, I think JoJo is one of the few pieces of media I genuinely enjoy nowadays, mostly because of how absolutely bizarre yet open it feels, you could basically make a Stand or character from your favorite song and it would fit. Part 2 is my favorite mostly because of the Pillar Men, but I also love Part 4 and 5.

Pardon me for double-posting but I'm trying to find Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency online for me and my friend to watch, but literally no streaming sites seem to have it. Does anybody know a good site to watch it on? It's my favorite part!
Update: Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to basically fuse Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency into one season?

I would say Netflix but I don't know how you would stream it to a friend. I'm sure there's a way to do it, though.

Pirate, mate.

Since I can't shut up about Stone Ocean with my friends, I'll do it here too; IF the part 6 anime comes out, what do you think it'll be like? Will the art style look like part 5's or different, what story points will be changed or just altered a bit, who voices who, etc. Since we're officially 500 days in without an announcement in sight, I wonder if DP is taking there time with this one.

In all honesty, when comparing the art styles of Diamond is Unbreakable and Golden Wind, chances are it'll have a slightly cleaner or maybe even grungier style to it, since it takes place in Green Dolphin Prison? As much as I fear the day the SO Anime arrives, I'm quite interested to see what they would do with stands like Limp Bizkit (Flaccid Pancake pfft-) and of course Made in Heaven.
