That's what makes this whole "standoff" so bizarre. I mean they're not actually interrupting any government business (I mean who cares about some small tourist building in bumfuck Oregon in fucking January), and if anything all they've done is give local business's a boost and maybe give local police some easy overtime.

I honestly can't think of anything like this that's ever happened before in the media. Like every little detail right down to the people they're "fighting" for straight-up saying "we have no idea who the hell these people are or what they're doing" makes this look like the setup to some kind of parody...but real. It's like when your cat sits on your laptop and refuses to get off so you just kinda let it since it's your shitty spare laptop you never cared about, and it's more cute than anything else.

It's not about actually disrupting anything, these guys were trying to get the feds to do Waco II: Electric Boogaloo. The big threat among the militia types is that if the feds ever Waco someone again they're going to start shooting federal agents as a matter of principal because the government has gone out of control.

The feds are being smart by just letting them sit it out, the only thing that can happen if they do a dynamic entry is 1. shootout that inflames the militia movement (the leaders of which have made it clear they think these guys are dumb fucks but are willing to go the mat over principal if they get shot up.) and everyone who wasn't outright hostel to these guys. Or: 2. loose a gunfight to a bunch of retards hold up in a tourist center and look like chumps. (this was a much bigger threat at Bundy ranch because there were hundreds of guys instead of 10-15 but probably played a part in the early calculus when it was thought there were 100+ guys in the office).

If it were anyone but the Bundys running the show here I'd say that they are no different than the black lives matter guys or occupy, only they remembered to bring their guns so they're a lot harder to kick out. The Bundys are retards though and they are legitimately trying to start Civil War II.

Bingo!

These guys wanted another Waco or Ruby Ridge and saw themselves as martyrs to the cause. How many interviews have there been over the past week where one mentions that he's ready to die for this and doesn't expect to make it out alive. They want the Feds to come in with guns blazing, to go out in a blaze of glory and then have the rest of these people that couldn't make it use it as a rallying cry to topple the government.

Problem is that will never happen and they're all just going to be shown to be impotent little nobodies who measure their manhood against the gun they carry.

How is this relevant to Ritzheimer? Mr. Ritzheimer is the one who found the guy at the motel and even a classless dullard like Jon Ritzheimer is pissed.

Shit, seriously? /k/ said it was abandoned, I just never bothered learning more, because from what I know about the right wing libertarian groups on the East Coat, they're pretty much all bark, no bite, so I didn't expect this to stay a thing past a month or so. Hell, even the Oathkeepers (I wouldn't be surprised if Jon was one of them too.), with their attempt at looking vaguely like badass rogue patriots, just sell t-shirts at local fairs.

Don't get your news from /k/.

I feel like not all of these guys went there hoping to die and become martyrs. Some of the more insane of the group, like Jon Ritzheimer or LaVoy Finicum, sound like their end goal was to die there and have been trying to rally others to do the same. Finicum hasn't really been sounding too excited about dying for his country until recently when he started realizing he's probably gonna go to prison. The Bundys and others sound like they're realizing how retarded this was and are now talking as if the plan was just to make a demonstration then go home (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/oregon-occupiers-face-charges-when-siege-ends-sheriff-n491366).

The Bundys aren't the type who would be willing to die for a cause like this. They're much more interested in taking advantage of gullible dumb fucks and the mentally ill like Ritzheimer to die for them so they can point at the government and take the status of martyr. In 2014, when Cliven was having his little stand-off, he had the idea that he was gonna put women and children on the front lines so that when the feds inevitiably shot them up there would be footage of women being gunned down on the news (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/apr/15/former-sheriff-willing-let-wife-daughter-die-front/). The Bundy clan are dumb and cowardly but inherited enough land, wealth, and clout that they've learned how to take advantage of nut cases like Ritzheimer.
