it's probably worth noting that it never occurs to Rian and Jonathan that perhaps people are upset because last jedi was a mediocre movie and wasted Both Carrie and Mark in their last chance to work together.
Regardless his observations on Luke and the fan are wrong, Luke can and has killed on multiple occasions, he probably has one the highest body counts of a heroic character ever at about 2 million, Luke can and will take life when their are no other options but only then. the entire first half of return of the jedi emphases this when Luke spends 40 odd minutes indulging Jabba's bullshit and giving him chances to back down before executing the entire cartel without breaking a sweat.

During the 2nd confrontation with Vader is Luke taking a calculated risk to save a family member due to emotional investment and ignorance of how dangerous Palpatine and Vader are. The danger isnt in Luke killing an evil man in combat-luke can and has done that before without issue. the danger is him killing his own father in a rage. Without that family connection Luke would have most likely introduced the Emperor to his lightsabre without any spiritual peril.
Mackintosh's misreading is a total straw man and no one thinks like he proposes.
It also fails to justify last Jedi, where the bold, patient and kind Luke who redeemed Vader is replaced with the spineless, shallow,callous dipshit. Luke risked the legacy of the jedi to save his asshole dad in return of the jedi, wereas Luke contemplates killing his troubled nephew for dubious reasons and then tells him to go fuck himself later on despite the guy being about as conflicted as Daddy. Even if you agree with mackintosh's interpretation it's still not really the same character.

Mackintoshs video isnt very good and is pretty simplistic in it's analysis of the jedi (it falls apart at the 6 minute mark when he forgets that Jedi are a monastic group of warrior mystics and not a trauma support group, and saw it really wouldnt pan out with Anakin), he also presumes too much of the relationship between emotional control and masculanity. He also fails to account that the philosophy is a direct reaction to thousands of years of trial and error to a proactive supernatual evil, he also totally neglects Anakins obssession with control which ironically would feed into toxic masculinity models.

This guy really agree's with johns thoughts on being in touch with your emotions, just accept that it's how you feel and go for it.

His video is academically better than Anita's however. Although hers is way more concise, articulate and attempts to be fun. She's not particulary charismatic but johns actually difficult to listen too.


Their's a strange irony in mackintosh that he frowns upon emotional stoicism but has such dour, joyless view on life with a cold moralistic demenour.

In retrospect Sarkeesian was the pretty mouthpiece but McIntosh was the academic ideologue and Cross did the social scheming. She dumped everyone who was propping her up because she thought she was a modern Betty Friedan. That's arrogant and delusional even by the measure of other GamerGate moochers. He's BFF at the time was Mallory Greitzer who was herself a person who often made her own startups and eventually landed herself a job at Gawker. So it can be pretty fairly assumed he ran in those circles. In 2016, he sold 4chan it to current 2chan owner Nishimura. And then ended up with the job at Google.

Unless I'm ignorant of a particular part of 4chan history, you never registered a tripcode. It's literally just # followed by whatever string of nonsense you want, and so long as you keep it the same, that's your tripcode. No, because the responses weren't telling of hatred towards her, most showed indifference or telling her to fuck off and saging the threads in /v/. Whereas in other boards she recieved a lukewarm reception from others.
It's only after the word got out she had $150,000 that people actually attacked her.
