Actually another thing which people should definitely not do is record some enthusiastic meowing on a cheap Chinese MP3 player with a speaker, set it on auto repeat, wipe any fingerprints off it with isopropyl alcohol and leave it in the building.

Cheap Chinese MP3 players don't like long filenames so rename it to MEOW.MP3 before copying. They're also a bit limited in how much of the MP3 standard they support. Luckily this MP3 file is Stream #0:0: Audio: mp3, 44100 Hz, stereo, fltp, 128 kb/s. I.e. 128 kbps 44.1Khz sampling stereo, which is pretty widely supported.
