Jonny's being soundly mocked by Ricky Gervase on twitter

"PC culture isn't killing comedy. It's driving it. As it always did" - Ricky Gervais

Ricky is spot on. This is basically the driving ideology behind the farms and we're lucky for that. These days humor is one of the few things that still gives me hope for western culture. Sometimes I feel like we've completely lost the plot as a society, but then I come to places like this and it helps remind me that there's still plenty of people who see 'woke culture' as being ripe for mockery and criticism. The ability to laugh and recognize the humor in our societies deviance and insanity is part of the reason why I haven't yet moved far north to a one room cabin for the peace and solitude.

It's interesting actually. Places like Reddit used to allow subreddits where people could mock PC culture but then they all got banned. I reckon there's a big chunk of Internet users who basically move from site to site as sites get purged or shutdown.

A lot of woke culture is really increasingly only a public face for the vast majority of people. Privately, almost everyone lets their hair down and has opinions that would never pass muster if they were being offered up to the Twitter hordes. Many of the people who are perfectly comfortable mouthing all the right words on social media know that it's all a public performance.

As people start to fall away from the orthodoxy they can more easily see that it's performative, and know that everyone who's saying the "good" things is only saying it to stay on the right side of being dogpiled.

I've recently started to see a lot more people being willing to just say "ok, whatever, this shit is silly" and walk away. The woke side can't stand up to any questioning and think a full-scale shit-throwing circle will impress people, not realizing it only impresses other shit-throwers.

You know what I like about conservatives, as someone who generally positions on the left? When I talk to conservatives about why their opinions seem wrong to me, they've often thought about my point of view and have reasons to oppose it, which they will make clear during that discussion. Try to talk to a woke left person about why they believe what they believe, and you will look fear in the face. They cover it up with anger so you don't see it, but they're terrified at the prospect of having to explain their beliefs to anyone. They know that they don't come by them honestly, and that if they had to articulate them, they'd probably fall afoul of cancel culture.

Also Conservative or right leaning arseholes know they're arseholes. I'd rather talk to a flat-out racist than a woko haramtard who goes into a meltdown if you dare suggest mutilating the genitals of a kid may not be a good idea

I have a mate who lives near Jonnyboy, and prior to the HRT they saw him about a fair bit. But he even seems to have gone into physical hiding, as well as complete social media radio silence lately. I wonder if he knows Gervais has been mocking him on Twatter? I can't see him keeping schtum if he knew, and if he saw and is being quiet, it must be tearing him to bits inside

I do wonder what he's up to. Licking his wounds no doubt

I think it has to be because of his upcoming court dates. He knows he screwed up on Twitter and that's why he lost the BCHRT cases. I think he has realized that he can't afford any more social media screw ups. I also think he is hoping he's going to get a big payout from this massage table case. He probably needs it to pay those ladies he harassed over waxing. But, even though he's keeping a low profile, I think the case is not going to turn out the way Jon hopes.

Please introduce me to some of these conservatives. I'm nearly 50 and have never met any.

When I was young, they weren't like that. The conservatives were the ones who'd shit on people trying to argue things like "Dungeons and Dragons is just a lame game, not the devil incarnate." The liberals would talk to you even if you believed the earth was made in seven literal days.

Now it's shifted, the liberals call it "sealioning" if you ask any questions about their positions or beliefs, and at least where I am, the conservatives will have a conversation. I wonder how regional it is, since you bring up the stark difference in your experience.

'She has been forced to pay a large settlement to the beauty salons that she took to court'

Wasn't it 6K in total?
Yes, CAD $2000 for each of the three respondents that had legal representation.

I read it as if the legal fees are for future similar cases rather than the money is to pay for legal fees he didn't have to pay for these cases.
Even though the GFM is now 404-compliant, the biggest question I had was what the additional $144k was intended for after optimistically assuming the first $6k would be used to pay off Yaniv's Tribunal fine.

With Yaniv's knowledge of sock puppetry, there's no way of knowing if this was a Yaniv Grift, someone else trolling and grifting, or something entirely different.

If the money was intended to help defray the cost of future cases, that certainly gives credence to the possibility Yaniv might switch careers to serial litigant. With his reputation in tatters after the latest BCHRT decision, however, Yaniv is going to have more of an uphill battle in any case they file, whether in the BCHRT or real court. If Yaniv additionally gets a conviction on their record for the current charges, it probably won't help their reputation even if the penalty would be a menial one as other Canadians have hypothesized given the charges and usual sentence for first-time offenders.

Sealioning is a funny cartoon

The problem is people who use a term based on a cartoon as a catch-all way to say 'Arguing with me is not allowed!'.

The Rick Gervais Tweets are bringing more Yaniv informants into the light.
