Neogaf, which is totally not a zoo filled with nut jobs, had to lock the initial Polygon article thread because members were launching personal attacks against each other.

Neogaf and Polygon can't even bully an indie developer into removing a voice actor.

I honestly hope this makes Neogaf realize their stranglehold over the industry is fading.

The stranglehold is long gone, the issue is that all the incestuous San Fran bloggers (Gawker, polygon) go there for news because research would take away from their social issues tweeting time and companies and events are increasingly telling them to fuck off.
(Kotaku and GAF are also in an obvious business relationship as Schreier is being put up as some kind of industry insider, and bad words about his site are now haram.)

GAF should still be around 10% vidya discussion, which is enough for these clowns. It's fun to see though how more and more games are outright censored on there based on mod preferences/fantasies, so who knows, maybe in a year they'll only allow mod-approved POC'em-Ups for discussion or something.

Looks like Neogaf and Polygon's complaints really hurt the game's sales.
This should be a sign for the devs not to fall into the same pitfall that the Yooka Laylee devs fell into.
This sort of outcome should be self-evident when you consider exactly how tiny of a minority the gaming press and their gaffer clique actually are. Even Tumblrites have more power in the industry at this point, at least if you convince them your game is "artistic" and "meaningful".
Big dogs don't bark, etc.

So someone known as MaxOf2D came out and said that the lead dev harassed him years ago by making a site with his dirty laundry.

As it turns out he has a bit of history online
The funny thing is that max's proof from way back when that the lead dev was involved was that:
a) the images of max sperging out were saved in photoshop (which could suggest manipulated evidence but it could also just merely suggest not wanting to compress it to shit)
b) even if they were fake there's still loads of funny instances of his sperging like his demotion and ban from facepunch for annoying literally everyone by whining about feminism- that's leaves 99% of the funny shit being real
C) he's a lolcow so why are we even considering the legitimacy of his claims
