I think there's a lot of truth to that but I'll say it's probably a step too far to say he straight up doesn't care about Josh. I think the crux of everything is that at the end of the day I think Clint is just really stupid. I don't think it's some insidious plan of his to keep Cobes as a dancing retard he doesn't want to deal with, I think he gets distracted by some shitty art project or gets confused when presented with a boglim problem. I think he just daywalks his stupidity really well and is just smart enough to fuck things up.

A good example of Clint's decision making skills is that he hooked up with Cobra's obviously insane mother in the first place. Clint banged a female proto-cobra and didn't see that a person like that would obviously cause problems. Then we have punishment haircuts, giving Cobes a deadly lathe, all of his really bad art, not putting a stop to the Puff fiasco, the fact that he had Cobes sit and listen to him say embarrassing shit about him in an interview, and those are the examples I can think of off the top of my head. All of these things are the actions of an overly emotional dummy who probably cares way more then he thinks.

I get Clint is a narcissistic unlikable guy but to let your own distaste of him warp his actually feelings towards Josh is dumb. There is a whole host of things Clint has zero obligation to do but does because he cares about Josh and wants to help him. Here are just a few off the top of my head.

1. Controls his SSI so Josh doesn't blow it on booze keeps his rent paid
2. Goes on regular grocery shopping trips making sure he has food
3. Helped him for years ship wands for his wand business. Driving him to and from UPS and paying for shipping.
4. Scheduled and drove Josh to dentist and therapy appointments something Josh would never ever do without Clint's help
5. Invites him on family trips despite him reeking off BO and binge drinking
6. Intercepts and throws away duster doordash
7. Talked with and drove over to Josh's apartment to deal with the police when he got swatted two weeks ago
8. Endlessly bailed Josh out of his own stupid bullshit

Clint doesn't have to do any of this. Josh is 31 years old. Clint already has a family and a career. If he didn't give a fuck about Josh why is he bothering with anything more then making sure his rent is paid? Do you really think he does all this for some facebook asspats about being a good dad? Clint loves him. He's not a good dad but he loves his son.
