Josh for all his foibles, knows a good deal more about what’s good and not good for him, deep down.

He has these lucid moments when he’s drunk, where he can’t put up the facade and he will admit that he’s a loser, he’s lost his hair due to poor habits, that his dad is disappointed in him, etc etc. He actively lives in a world of denial based entirely on self preservation, if he accepted his reality he’d likely kill himself from the crushing depression of it. It’s why he drinks so much and lives his strange power fantasies.

People always say “He’s retarded” to explain anything Josh does and I’ve never believed that. There’s always some deep rooted pathological phenomena going on with him, it’s why I think he’s so interesting.

100% hes so much more interesting than the normal “dumb man does dumb things”. Watching this dude evolve over 10+ years from a goofy dykecut jobcore teenager banging Stephanie to an alcoholic homeless veteran cowboy has been fascinating.

He used to be willing to share his every thought and not even second guess it. He used to be so much more…confident? I guess? Everything he does now has to go through the “will trolls make fun of me for this and will this destroy the delusions I’ve created” checks. YouTube used to be a basic coping mechanism that now seems to be just another unchecked addiction of his that helps support his drinking. I can’t even tell if he likes doing it anymore or if he’s just doing it to spite the trolls and whoever else tells him he shouldn’t.

I also think josh would amputate his arm if his dad told him it was a bad idea. I’ve never seen someone so happy to harm themselves just to spite others. “Drinking and smoking is bad for me huh? I’ll make it my entire identity””I need to stop doordash? Then I’ll only eat doordash and cover it in Doritos”. Just pure insanity.

My favorite example. Before the DTTS stuff started, “homeboy robbie”, who helped him set it up, specifically warned cobes that he needs to keep some money in his account in case of chargebacks because that would destroy his PayPal with the overdraft charges. You can watch cobes listen to this with a look of disgust and the attitude of a 5 year old being scolded by their parents. We all know the rest of the story.

He most definitely confirmed he received a wellness check from police and EMT so I guess that's what it was? I didn't know they gave out shit when they did those.

Either way I doubt it due to his lack of self-awareness and that he still firmly believes he did nothign wrong and was just "a grownass man having a drink" as he put it.

In one of the recent alcoholism streams I saw that his mouth was bleeding pretty bad. Cobes would never mention it on stream but I feel like he knocked one of his teeth out thrashing around in a fit of anger (this was the September 11th stream I'm referring to btw).

I mean at this point he needs dentures, he needs to get his teeth removed soon or he's going to run the risk of serious heart complications down the line (among other things).

Coming back and watching cobes after about 2 years has been really sad. I can not bring myself to look away for some reason but the rate of his deterioration is honestly shocking.


I also just wanted to add that I imagine Cobes and his burnout junkie friends in Casper are probably doing a range of clear-net research chemicals. My best guess would be FLAP (or a similar downer), 3meo-PCP (or some other disassociative), and or some form of synthetic speed (or whatever is passing for it in chinese labs these days). I imagine he started 'partying' with some guys that were messing with this stuff and fried his brain beyond repair. I have worked with a lot of alcoholics and drugs addicts over the past 5 years or so and I've never met someone who just 'smoked weed and had a drink or two on occasion' that was this far gone in the old brain department. Either the spice addiction was actually much worse than we thought and that did the bulk of the damage, or he's actively using/abusing research chemicals.

Either way it's obvious that cobes has done some serious damage to his body and brain in just the past two years and I've never been more thankful to be sober watching him. I don't even know if he's salvageable at this point...

Josh has allegedly accidentally done meth once at a party, per his words. Also had a really early fondness for huffing common colognes. I can’t imagine he still does that but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. It would explain in part why his bathroom is covered in cologne products.
