Lolcow KingCobraJFS / Josh Saunders - Amateur musician, YouTube Streamer, wandmaker, and self-proclaimed "sexy goth badboy". Perpetually circling the drain.

Having watched Cobes for years now, I don't understand how he invokes such a moral quandary in everyone. It's common to see people empathize with him and feel bad for him, especially compared to most lolcows, and it's totally unwarranted imo. He has always been this deviant, impulsive boglim - it's just that he reflects his gross inward life in his poor physical appearance now. He's definitely "fallen" a long way - and to think, only ten years ago he was, uh, getting drunk in front of Albertson's with psychotic Casper bums. Yep. A lot sure has changed.

Agreed. You don't have to go too deep into the "lore" to see his behavior was atrocious without remorse and it's not because he's regarded, autistic, whatever he's got going on.

It's very easy to hate Josh now since he's become Terrance Popp's alcoholic son and spews nothing but hatred. It can't be blamed on his handicaps or laziness.

I find the story of King C kinda sad. I just recently got into his story and found it to be good lolcow material. I did see the video of him falling over and breaking his cig blasted out of his mind a while back. Now knowing the full story it is sad to see how he has fallen. I will definitely be catching up on the lore and keeping an eye out for new developments. One of the greats.
By the time you get to him spreading his demon wings and flying you'll lose what pity you had. Cobes is a fun cow, but he deserves where he's at.

Was idly browsing the subreddit when a thread about Darfliny making chainmail popped up. Probably tardy to the party here but at one point Cobes held a fresh metal ingot for a solid 2 seconds before his brain registered that it still pretty fucking hot. Can't believe how much Cobes has changed in a nary 2 years. :/

~6:57 for the good part.

His new location makes it less advantageous for it and even though he rides slowly on the sidewalk, he's so out of shape now he'd be huffing and puffing after a few blocks. Why bike when he can have it delivered or call a cab? The old days of Cobes out and about in Casper are gone.
I think the eviction and how much harder it is to get around now is like 80-90% of the reason for his massive cognitive and physical decline. Seeing his homeboys kept him sane I think. Cobes has always been a heavy drinker but he really started to go hard the past year or two since he moved. If you can't go anywhere or see anyone why not just stay inside and get shiftfaced all day?

Part of it is probably because his bike gets flat tires consistently. Either the rim or the tire is shot and he keeps taking it to a shop to get the tube patched. Our boy needs some solid core runflat tires.

This would be a perfect opportunity for some bonding with homedad Clint.
I’m sure he knows how to change a tire/inner tube and would be glad to help Josh with doing something productive.
But as others have pointed out, Josh doesn’t care about anything that will not benefit him in the moment, even plugging in a new webcam or mic that people sent him in the mail was too much effort.
And realistically, where would he go?
He’s banned from most places including the local Albertsons supermarket and has no friends left, really.
Also, it is unlawful to ride a bike under the influence in WY, which given that he’s an aloholic would disqualify him anyway. Source

Riding a bike drunk is a DWI almost everywhere in North America but it's a law that's seldom, if ever enforced. Changing an inner tube is way too much work for cobes. Dude can barely turn dowels into shittier dowels, and he gets paid for that. He needs a tard proof bike.

As for where he'd go? Maybe there's a dive bar across town that hasn't banned him?

That may be so, but Josh is deathly afraid of the law.
Not that he’d know that it’s against the law or he even thinks that he’s drunk at the moment.
His blood alcohol level has to be pretty hogh consistently that even after waking up at noon and going to the supermrket he was still so hammered that the clerks could smell the alcohol on him (which is pretty impressive given the other good smells that must have masked it)

Alu sheds heat rather fast but I'm guessing it was 80c - 120c minimum, but he's got a really dull pain response ever seen that video of him lighting that charcoal with a blow torch? Fuckers got a pain tolerance.

I can't work out why lenny is smelting ingots when he's trying to make chain mail there is next to no transfairable skill's between the two, you make the wire rings on a mandrel and then cut them and do either pinning or a light braise job to them to keep them closed.

Also he needs better foundy tools and diciplin you don't use your crucible tongs as a dross draw / scraper, and the less I say about his footware and trousers the better one split crucible and he's going to be in hospital for a long time.

Keep in mind this is small town USA. He looks like he would be a problem. Some middle-age clerk sees him shuffle in, smells like beer because he spills it on himself constantly, and then mumbles for some alcohol behind the counter? I don’t doubt he was drunk but he probably been refused based on appearance and smell alone. Him looking like he is slow probably has saved him a few times though

I have no clue how he held that ingot so long. I’m guessing all the spice and paint fumes have fucked up his nerve center a bit, hence he can hold hot fucking metal and it takes a second or two,.

Edit:
Got curious and looked up delayed pain response and autism. Looks like it is a well-known symptom with this condition. So that video is basically a physical display of his autism at work.

Easy to read source on it

Rule of thumb is leave your castings for 6 hours in the sand mould but Lenny is doing it into a Graphite mould about 4x1 so you have leave it out for 30 min an it will be cold, Ironically I caught josh's feet in the video and he was in his standard boots and that's better than Lenny.

Seriously Lenny's casting and safety around fucking molten metal is pissing me off, let alone the dunk bath he was doing from the crucible that's a steam explosion waiting to happen and that's not fun.

Edit to add -

That's water contaminated scrap Alu being placed into a foundry, and the steam blow off causing the fire and the metal to go everywhere due to the water flashing into super heated steam, what he is doing while not catastrophic could cause a lot of serious problems even if he was dressed safely and he's not, he is in plastic based cloathing that melts and not burns and will dig deeper into a wound track and be a night mare to remove along side burns an everything else.

Kind of, it's also the second largest city in Wyoming so it attracts derelicts, homeless and drifters as well.

Given some of the people we've seen in the Cobraverse it is kind of surprising Josh would stand out that much, enough to be refused service. He must have been honestly shitfaced when he tried to buy beer at Albertson's since he had no problems getting his party sub from them.

Looked up government statistics on homeless and roughly 600 total in all of Wyoming. Looked like second lowest in the country even. So probably a few in Casper but not enough that’s it’s a somewhat common sight.

Imagine winter must be a bitch up there

Rough gov estimate

Record low of -40 in January, sheeiiiit. Probably a lot more seasonal workers than homeless with that kind of weather. Not bad otherwise though.

Kind of surprised Cobra never mentioned the total solar eclipse that passed over Casper in 2017. Seems like an eclipse stream would be pretty Gothic.

I feel that the low cost of living must abait that some what, not for the real down and outs but for the working poor the cost of living must be a draw.

That number can't be right, unless they are getting really finicky with there definitions of what constitutes "Homeless".

Winters look bad there your right but honestly homeless populations are more robust than people think, we had a prolonged cold snap where the temperature at mid day was -5c but at night got down to -15c for about 2 weeks solid in the middle of the city centre, they just relocated to areas that kept the heat in like old buildings and tunnels you didn't see them much during the day either during that time as the local charities giving the homeless food and alike just set up a place to drop off and the odd mission into there camps.

That just seems like the sort of thing that would pass him by, Josh is the sort of guy who will ignore a massive solar event but will know to the second when a woman in latex pants is going to do a live stream of her farting.

Definitely, there really aren't that many people below the poverty line in Casper. It's not super wealthy but it's not poor either, really seems very middle class and working class.

I could see Cobra's stream going completely pitch dark during a video responce even though everyone has been telling him about the eclipse for weeks.

"Must be a storm YouTube" as he returns to his drink combo.

It's not even that, what's consider poor is harder to reach in Casper than it is in most places - Casper is the states 2nd city and looks really affordable and you can reach upper to middle class lifestyles easily but a income that would leave you owing money at the end of the month in places like London, NYC, Sanfran, Paris, Berlin etc goes a lot father than you would think especially if your smart.

I think the problem is we are getting the Bog Eye view of life in Casper.

Yea I could see that but honestly Josh is one of the most disinterested people I have ever seen, There could be the Medieval Sky battle over Nuremberg over his head and he'd not even look at it because it's not something he's paying attention to on his iMac's screen. If anything he'd be missing a trip because it was likely a Ragwort (natrual LSD) halucination caused by some bad grain and him being a shut in eating old food missed out on a free high.

One of the things that really bothers me about the subreddit is how they shit on Casper and Wyoming as if they're extensions of jorp. Casper is booming, people are moving there in droves because it's a really great place to live. Just look at how fucked the real estate market is there. The redditors seem to revel in not just their hate of josh but their hate of the interior of the US with it, as if there's no reason to even be there and the people stuck there are poor and or addicted to meth or opiates etc. Josh is an abnormality in the town, there are probably thousands of people exactly like him in a single suburb of LA that simply dont put themselves on youtube.
