I have a feeling cobes will ultimately end up like stone man warrior. Which if you haven't read that thread it's equal parts hilarious and very sad. He reminds me a lot like Josh, but instead of alcoholism he died from his leg literally rotting from diabetes. His family completely wrote him off and his delusions had isolated him. We tried to get him help but he didn't trust hospitals or police so he died a very painful miserable death, alone. It's pretty fucked up.

I think at wendys the final straw was cobes accidentally switching a diet soda in the fountain machine with the regular one and some dude with diabetes went into diabetic shock or something?

That's just sub reddit fantasy lore. He would regularly mix up the teas and just be generally weird and gross, on top of making videos about his coworkers, but (after cutting his hours to the point where it's obvious they were trying to make him quit) he finally lost it when a troll kept calling corporate "complaining" about his hygiene/food safety.

Legally, socially and physically, Clint has no more ability to get Josh into a dentist's chair than you or I. There's nothing he can threaten or bribe him with, he can't physically drag him there, he can't persuade him of the necessity because he's dealing with a brain-damaged retard who reflexively does the opposite to anything he's advised to do. Yes, Josh is his son, but he's also a fucking 30-year-old adult who wants to be independent.

Clint has other kids too, ones who, as a father, he needs to spend an equal amount of time, attention and money on, and those kids aren't retard addict boglims (so far as I know). They need a father too. That's one of the main reasons that most chronic addicts get given up on by their families eventually. They reach a point where the entire family suffers, hugely, because of one fuckup idiot who is a black hole of time, affection and money. People like Cobes never give anything back, they just take, and you have to decide between dedicating your entire life to failing to turn their lives around for them or actually spending time, money and effort on the rest of the family. Imagine being one of Cobes' sisters and not seeing your dad because he spends all day every day cleaning up after your retard dickhead alcoholic brother. What if your dad couldn't send you to college because he spent all his disposable income on bailing out a boglim over and over. That's the kind of thing that ruins lives and destroys entire families. Clint can be a dickhead and he's not the greatest guy in the world, but he at least seems to realise that there are serious downsides to him and his family in wiping Josh's ass for him and those downsides may be greater than the upsides of wasting any more effort on Cobes.

Clint has done more than a lot of parents do. There's a lot of men out there who, on realising they had fathered a retard, would "go out for cigarettes" if you get my drift. Clint has probably done his best, which wasn't good enough. But I'm not sure the best dad in the world would achieve much more.
