How do I solve the eternal bullet spread question?

I can add more silly maps into the server's rotation, I'm not sure if I can default to them as the server currently rotates between maps every 6 hours to avoid the physics engine freaking out when the server has been on a single map for a very long time while being empty. I'll see what I can do.

1. Should the server have events?

2. Should the server(s) stay open 24/7? (multiple-choices allowed)

3. Should the server have a specific meetup time? (multiple-choices allowed)
(technically mixed in with the first poll)

The EU server seems to have taken a tumble with the VPN it was using, working on it bringing it back.

I had added as an experiment the other proposed weapon revert plugin, as a consequence when you join the EU server (only) you will download a few older weapon models, I'm also taking the opportunity to see how bad Source's ServerDL is with about 1-ish MB of content, feedback about download times is welcome. Currently looking into an S3-like solution (Cloudflare's R2 seems to be decent enough) for hosting FastDL which would let the servers have custom maps and gamemodes outside of the workshop.

Planning on a fancier plugin for a future date but I intend to roll out bots this weekend, they will stay until 6 players join (of course only on maps that can handle bots)

The polls closed up a while back but for the moment I'm going keep the servers up 24/7, and alternate between the voted event times to get some feedback, I'll likely do an event just before or after Christmas.

How much storage is needed? It'd be easy to serve the files via a VPS with some rudimentary DDoS protection. Worst comes to worst, you could hide it behind Cloudflare or a similar service. Though Cloudflare is a piece of shit for political reasons, so it'd be preferable to use literally anything else if there's the option.
 
EU server restored, will continue to monitor the network side of things.

Bots added to both servers, some gamemodes and workshop maps are excluded since bots aren't possible on them, if there are any stock maps in which the bots don't do anything (since they would be missing a navmesh) let me know.

I don't expect the servers needing more than 10 GB of content, completely agree that a simple VPS would be enough for that. I was looking at Cloudflare purely because R2 has a free plan which gives 10 GB and a fair share of operations which would be enough for the server, plus the added bonus of having DDoS protection included. I wouldn't be giving Cloudflare a single penny anyways.

should give a link for this revert since i'm currently not finding it, but in terms of download speeds it just slows down the loading times up to a minute as far as i've seen, after this it goes back to being very smooth, no comment on the bots since biggest thing i'm seeing is their unique rètardation.

I think you'll only have people trying that shit if you identify yourself as some sort of known quantity that people want to dox or piss somebody off. Like if Anime Sucks Cope and Sneed came onto the server (prior to being doxed anyway), then people would be digging into his Steam account like crazy.

My suggestion would be not to put anything cringe on your profile, no anime avatars/wallpapers, creepy weirdo Steam groups or furfag games in your Steam library. Nowadays Valve offers a feature to mark games in your library as private so you can attempt to hide embarrassing games from public view too.

Even if your profile is private, your screenshots may not be. Append /screenshots/ to your Steam Community URL to see whether you have any which are publicily visible.

Have you ever had a display name or URL which could tie to your identity? There are sites which archive this information. Ensure your name history is wiped and your URL isn't set to anything sensitive, then check:

The reason I suggest double checking your profile before searching is (especially in the case of steamhistory.net) if they don't have you indexed yet, they'll immediately index you.

If steamid.uk has info, it's pretty easy to opt yourself out. As for SteamHistory and SteamRep, that's not possible though SteamRep is shutting down in the next couple months anyway.

Assuming all of the above is good, there's nothing identifiable and nothing shown that shouldn't be shown on your profile, then you'll be fine up against all but the most determined autists.

It's so fucking easy to have an uninteresting profile and not acting out in such a way that you invite doxxing or even checking profiles. If someone had cropped pokemon porn and a name like Gardevoir Cocksock #22, they'd be looked into. If you had a cropped picture of John McClane and the name John Fortress, nobody would give a shit. Just the other hour in WoW I saw a dwarf called Natosucksxd next to a thot draenei called Femboytoy or something. Who'd you rather wrinkle your nose over?

was there even one?
whenever i opened tf2 i saw that server constantly empty and there is no activity on this thread, so i got no info about it.

i think at this point if there's nobody giving a shit about this server, then to just leave it for mati/specific holiday events and call it a day, there's no reason to keep an empty server up if nobody plays on it.
