This is a good point. I just watched Drawn Together last year myself after hearing so much about it being "THE MOST OFFENSIVE SHOW EVER" and, while I did generally enjoy it and thought it was funny, it was exhausting to watch because there's absolutely no break in between the "clever" offensive shit and stupid offensive shit. It's just a barrage of things to witness and I missed a lot of really good jokes on a first watch because of it. The only thing that places it above others shows like it is that the creators and cast obviously loved doing the show and everyone would pitch in on the writing, so it gets points for earnestness, something safe-edgy shows will never have. Also I'd like to point out that none of the people who worked on it has denounced it or denied their involvement in it as far as I know, and most of them are still successful. Makes you think.

One of the worst examples I can think of when it comes to safe-edgy is the Saints Row reboot. It's a failure on all fronts when it comes to any form of rebellion or personality, unless that personality is Reddit. All of the character building and goofiness the old games revolved around and hammed up as the series progressed was replaced with shoehorning in unique opinions like "We may be criminals, but we don't need to increase our carbon footprint!" or "Student debt is bad!" or the classic "Fuck captialism!". The humor beyond that was pretty much nonexistent, extending to jokes about waffles like it's 2006 and I'm on the Internet for the first time. If that game's writing is the writers trying to be "edgy", they should just stick to being boring.

He's honestly the textbook definition of kneeling to the mob. One thing I hate from a YouTuber more than anything is them bending the knee to appeal to the certain crowd. He reviewed shows with a heavy leftist audience, and he knew the jokes he would make would get some people upset yet he still did them. But he had a "change of heart" and realized you can't joke about things that aren't leftist-approved.

People are allowed to change how they work with humor or whatever, I somewhat get it but I wish he continued and went with what he did not seem at all bothered with because he did provide decent reviews, with his humor basically adding some extra flair to it all.
