Really it was a problem with Frieren becoming the GOAT on My Anime List, and every fucking normie sudddenly watching it at once. Its Tolkien, but anime. Demons are pure evil, no you can't reason with them, you try that, they will just trick you and then eat you. This guy personifies this to a T. And this blew up. There is like 10 reaction videos to his. Because he couldn't take the fact that, yeah, you shoot those bloody demons on sight. Because they're EVIL.

Like I said, I think we really shouldn't have just normalized the word so easily, tons of things in anime don't even need the term, outside of Megaten that is.

yeah He was an alpine pagan demon who lead a leage of demons on the winter solstice that had to be warded off similar to early halloween (most pagan winter holidays were like this), even than he was still a bogeyman to scare children into behaving, when christianity took over he actually became more sanitized. Becoming more of a good cop bad cop deal with santa, funny though as every culture has a bogeyman and krampus was slowly fazed out for just Santa during victorian times santa became something of a krampus like figure who could either give presents or beat children depending on how they behaved.

than the the krampus movie happened, he became mainstream and is now as banal as everything else that was once cool
