Kotaku Weenie Gets Mad at Internet Over Final Fantasy Chad - Ian Walker is upset again

This is the ideal male body, if you don't like it you're a bigot.

What's that have to do with a pissed off sjw blogger that's painfully projecting wanting to fuck his own sister?
They would love Cold Steel

Marginally related, but you know how they kick up a fuss over sexualised female characters and you say male characters are objectified too because they have huge muscular builds and they say that doesn't count because it's a male power fantasy? And you ask them what objectified male characters would look like and they come out with stupid shit like this:

Well why did they get pissed of with Cindy in Final Fantasy XV:

When the main cast looked like a fucking boy band?

I mean, to my unwoke mysogynistic eyes she's far more sexualised than them, but according to their logic they're both objectified the exact same!

The funny part is, despite all the memes the game is actually pretty fun. I've been playing the demo for the last half hour and it's solid gameplay. Jack hasn't been saying Chaos every 20 seconds, in fact the whole gameplay experience has been quiet and atmospheric.

You actually have job classes you can switch to on the fly with different equipment sets that change your appearance.

This dude probably didn't even play the whole free demo :story:. You get plenty of fantasy looking armor 5~10 minutes into it that changes your appearance. I dunno about you but the Black Mage gear looks pretty Final Fantasy to me.

Are you fucking retarded? You expected a journalist to actually play the game before shitting on it?

So for those who played the demo, is there a twist to the edgyness? I know people are calling it a “refreshing throwback to 00’s edgelord protagonists”, and I’m not opposed to that opinion; but with Nomura attached I’m expecting something more.

Half the problem with 00’s edgelords is they were shallow self-insert action heroes that were more or less interchangeable. With the isekai angle, there’s potential to explore all this chaos obsession and edgelord chuuni shit; even if it ends up celebrating it to some extent. Kind of like how Cloud in Remake is still the chuuni he always was, but is less of a whiny asshole and far more immediately likeable.

The game is supposed to be an edgy action remake of final fantasy 1.

I'm not really sure yet who it's supposed to appeal to, the last time something like this had a split audience was OG Nier. Like there's clearly been care put into the demo, but it's not adhering to the source material all that much. It also doesn't feel like a Soulsborne game which is what they were aiming for, it feels different than that. It's clearly on the methodical end rather than mindless action.

Personally I feel I need more to play, like there's no way of telling how the game will be when you hit a roadblock and get stuck at a boss. What options will it allow you to try and conquer it. Do you just try endlessly to get good with a single set of equipment or can you fuck around with boss specific builds.

Ian Walker seems to be the worst writer at Kotaku now since most of the old batch of awful people (Heather Alexandra, Gita Jackson, etc.) left and new hires replaced them.

To those unfamiliar, "fuckboy" might sound like a dude who gets his ass plowed, but it's actually a common, derogatory term in sex-obsessed Lefty social circles to refer to a dude who has (or wants to have) a lot of sex.

But honestly, this probably could've gone into the general game journo thread instead of having its own.
