Is there some reason the kid cannot just go get his own 1-bed or studio/efficiency off campus. I know sometimes that stuff can be a lot more expensive than on campus living (on campus apartments were cheaper than off campus when I went) if that is the case then Kurt should just do a GoFundMe to help subsidize the difference. Also roommates are not the only thing that will keep you awake. Everyone in the floor above and below you can just as easily make noise. Even loud drunk underage kids can be disruptive. If sleep is that crucial pretty much your only option is an apartment at least 5+ miles from campus and away from party streets.
