Journalism school teaches you how to have an ego. And I am not joking. Powerlevel: I switched my major a few different times, going through a few different programs. At one point I was in a journalism program. The thing that really stood out to me that was really different in the journalism department was how they pumped you up to make you have a massive ego.

Journalism as a whole often attracts egomaniacs to begin with. But on top of that you have your professors all telling you you're the best and most talented people for the job, that your job is the most important job on Earth and that you have the entire world at your mercy. They condition you to think you're the gatekeepers of society and that you have to do whatever you have to to ensure the world keeps running correctly.

Then going through the courses doesn't help. You'll learn about how little ethics there actually are and just how much shit you're legally allowed to get away with. Plus you'll learn it's history and all the shit others got away with. Journalism schools are factories for pushing out psychopaths into the world. It's why the media is in the state is in. I'm glad I switched when I realized it wasn't for me.
