TGWTG Kyle Kallgren / Oancitizen / Brows Held High - Afraid of the Eggnog Ninjas, "Male Feminist" that Abuses Women, 2nd-rate Cinema Snob, Hugh Hefner A-Log, Fat Creepy Incel Cuck

So what's the list?
The Panned Films are Dick Tracy, Tank Girl, Popeye, Josie and the Pussycats (His Number One).

Did you know this was a comic films: History of Violence, Death of Stalin, Ichi the Killer, Snowpiercer (These are good movies but only chosen for the did you know factor).

The rest is either foreign, gay, or obscure shit.

I'm a comic fan and if I was doing a list of 20, you'd see Superman, Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, Snowpiercer, Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Logan, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, Batman (1989), X2, Days of the Future Past, X-Men First Class, Avengers, Iron Man, Infinity War, Spider-Man, Hell Boy, The Mask, & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990). You know things that actually represent the genre would this be my final list probably not there would be more fine tuning, but this is a good idea.

He's just trying to be an artsy faggot with a subject artsy faggots look down upon.

Maybe a quarter of those films are objectively good. Namely; History of Violence (kind of debtable sure, but I liked it), Death of Stalin (this was a comic?), Ichi the Killer (a manga), Snowpiercer (I thought this was a novel and not a manga?) and Oldboy (once again, a manga).

I loved Dick Tracy as a kid and had the toys and shit but it does NOT hold up. Warren Beatty is dreadfully miscast, the pace is slow and the kid is annoying. The only entertainment value is Al Pacino hamming it up and the trivia that he designed his own facial prosthetic.

I'd argue maybe a third of those are good and most of that list is guilty pleasures.

Josie and the Pussycats was horrible, I remember watching it during movie night and almost everyone hated it and only enjoyed the fact it was shot during the pre 9/11 2000s.

Only a contrarian like Kyle would put Josie and the Pussycats as number one.
Also, People's Joker? Who the fuck would put it as number 2 on any list (unless it was worst of list)?

Wait... this is a real movie? I thought it was a slang term for the latest Joker film.

Also Nimona is... not surprising given that it seems to be a very tumblr style webcomic.

In fact a few of those I would dispute really count as comic books. By his standards "Where the Wild Things Are" would count.

Some dyke made a movie where she's the Joker. It was previewed at the Toronto Film Festival I think where all the usual suspects called it a masterpiece. WB on the other hand had a copyright to protect and had the shit shutdown.

For those who don't know if you allow others to use your copyrighted material for profit it can be viewed as you relinquishing your copyright which opens the floodgates to anyone using it without your say.

Eventually WB allowed the Dyke to release the film because they got called homophobes.

The fact they wouldn't stick to their guns makes me happy that between 2034 to 2037 Superman, Lois Lane, Batman, Joker, and Wonder Woman will all enter public domain.

Josie and the Pussycats is actually great but in a ridiculously stupid way. They purposely put the product placement everywhere as a meta joke (and plot relevant thing) because advertising is everywhere nowadays its insane. Most people missed that when they first saw it. Like how Spice World was very clearly them doing their version of A Hard Days Night.

All that aside, a lot of his choices are uhhhh......Barbarella, Snowpiercer, Ghost World, Colonel Blimp, and Ichi are fantastic though. Hes still a creepy faggot.

Agreed on both. Josie and Pussycats was great but only because it wasn't taking itself seriously. They went over and beyond with the product placement putting it right up there in plain view. And the boy band at the start that's singing a homoerotic song "Your Backdoor Lover"? It's so obviously self-aware. Same with Spice World. They knew what they were doing and that's, "let's have fun with this".

No argument here. It's possible to enjoy the same movies he does and still think he's a creep.

Which he is.

Well, broken clocks and all that.

Wish I'd saved Mantis' tweets calling out how he tried to crawl in to bed with her and started crying because she was the only woman who had been nice to him in his life. Which, considering what he's like, doesn't surprise me.

Was this before or after Brad started dating her? I would think before.

But yeah, if Mantis is the first woman to be nice to him it means there's a reason for that. And that reason is he's a creep.

I swear he made a follow-up video to this one where he complains no one got the meta humor of it, as he would never lower himself to unironically play an ironic stereotype of a nerdfluencer and none of these movies are his favorites anyway.
Anyone else remember that? Or am I hallucinating lolcow videos that never were?

edit: It existed but has been privated.

There's a bunch of stuff on his community page that has not been mentioned before, so here's your news roundup:
He has a new "assistant channel mod" named Ven who is an old buddy and used to do his title cards back on CA

He's pleased as punch about how the election turned out:

Engagement is so low he's asking for racist trolls to watch and comment on his videos- Yes, he actually said that:

He joined a whole bunch of queers to do a Shakespeare reading:
This is all that happened in his life in the last half year or so, see you again next year for another iteration of "Not much ado about Kyle".

I think it was just after they broke up, but they were still friendly and he had no problem with the other CA people hanging out with her. I think there were other people in the hotel room with them, and thank god for that or else we might have had another Jewario scenario on our hands.

Like it or not, "Birth of a Nation" is a historically relevant film and it SHOULD be viewed by anybody studying film or is interested in film.

Yes it's racist as hell. Yes it's so obviously slanted to make the KKK look good. And yes it's 100% propaganda. But that doesn't take away from it's merits. Just like "Triumph of the Will" is a significant movie that pioneered certain styles. Say what you want about Leni RIefenstahl as a person, her work is legendary in movies to the point where things shown in that documentary are still being used today in movies and documentaries.

To say it should not be watched means you're worried that it's going to make people think and you want to hide it from history. It deserves to be seen, warts and all.

That's one thing with Brad in that he's not one for drama. But to go from Brad to Kyle is a huge step down. But I don't think for a moment that she would have been in trouble. Kyle is such a wimp that I swear a woman could kick him in the balls and he'd say he deserved it for being a filthy male.

36k views for the 'Mr Burns'. I know people don't like Kyle, I don't like Kyle. However it's so much funnier to accept the fact that some of his videos are really great work, offering takes on cinema and culture that I've never encountered anywhere else ('A movie happened' about Doomerist cinema is a prime example of this). The 'Mr Burns' video involved him tracking down and getting interviews with cast and crew of the 'Mr Burns' play, all well edited and put together, so I didn't really feel the 98 min runtime.

Yet he gets no fucking views, while Lindsay Ellis shits out a video every two years about some hobby horse, offering inane takes and she gets millions, while raking in the Patreon cash.

You mean tranny? Because it is a tranny and the whole plot is about being a tranny.

There's a reason one of them has become very successful and has a pretty large audience even to this day, and the other is a pathetic sad sack with a very small audience. No one likes an egotistical asshole with an unwarranted sense of self-importance.
This is especially funny when you remember Kyle is a spoiled rich boy who grew up in Europe, whereas Brad has survived how many overdoses and failed marriages, again? I lost count. Either way, dude doesn’t take himself seriously, has appeared to have made massive personal gains (wrt getting married and having a kid), and has (I think) treated people like Doug Walker with real friendship.

Compare that to Kyle and his gaggle of Chez Apocalypse friends infighting. Or how the dude reacts to criticism: Brad makes (admittedly cringe) characters to parody certain cohorts of his audience - he makes a joke. Kyle REEs about Kiwi Farms posts - and I say this as someone who felt that his inclusion of those screenshots was a genuinely brilliant move, artistically. I don’t hate Kyle, I actually like his stuff, but what you just said makes a lot of sense. Snob is a better person, and it shows.

Brad grew up with divorced parents who had no time to monitor what he was watching, so he developed a love of dogshit that he knows is terrible, and is capable of making fun of himself to the point where he has posted on forums like this and other places, giving us more insight into events. Kyle on the other hand cannot take an ounce of criticism, and somehow believes himself to be Brad's moral and intellectual superior.
