Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Its........eh? Yay getting one shotted. Building mechanics are tricky. Idk how people don't think the weapon durability is crap.
I posted on plebbit that I wouldn't be buying the game because I don't like weapon damage mechanics that don't allow repairing.

Holy shit. The consoomer hivemind dogpiled the shit out of that comment like I raped their fucking mother.

This is exactly why we have to hang out on an anonymous forum on the dark web in order to talk about even the most innocuous things.

Was probably added there to make the powers not look as empty compared to Botw, since they removed the bombs which took 2 slots, and there are only really main 3 powers in this game compared to the 4 in botw (5 with the two bomb versions). I never used the map in the power wheel ever.
Yeah, between ultrahand and rewind it seems like they condensed a lot. Would be neat if in the endgame you got your old powers. I know that doesn't happen, but still.

I want to go see my friend Big Tree but the Lost Woods seems pretty unhappy at the moment and keeps kicking me out. Oh well...

Are you prioritizing hearts or stamina?

Hearts for me, because even common Lizalfos can just run up and knock out 4 3/4 hearts in a single blow when I have a grand total of five.

Lizalfos are wily motherfuckers. Seems like they made them even more menacing in this game. I really like the way they move and how quickly they can go from being a dot in the distance to RIGHT IN YOUR FUCKING FACE WITH A KNIFE.

A few hours into it, and I'm definitely in the camp of "too big to be DLC, too safe to be worth $70". The building mechanics make for some interesting moments, and I like how item fusing adds some utility to even basic gear.

Item durability, my biggest gripe with BotW, is still here but slightly alleviated with Octorocks and by how much gear is left lying around. Plus there's simple item duping glitch. Fusing materials helps a bit, but it still just feels like a bandaid on a glaring problem. It's kinda weird that in a society of magic, ancient technology, and Ubisoft towers that somehow you can't find a simple blacksmith.

I'm no game designer, but I have an idea. Just give us the Master Sword by default and have it start at a lower base power. Replace Korok seeds with items that increases the damage and moveset of the Master Sword. The MS itself doesn't break, but items that do are weapons that can either be slightly stronger than the MS at the cost of durability, or items like sticks that you use as makeshift tools, such as torches, barrel bombs fused to throwing weapons, shields, etc. Keep the ability to apply elements to the MS with items for a short duration.

Gotta give Ganon credit. Breaking all the weapons in the world was a pretty smart move.

it took an hour and a half to upload this 27 second clip

Finally watched the tear where Ganon gets the power stone. I must say his hair is pretty extreme.

The Master Sword still breaks too. They let you merge the Master Sword with items like any other weapon and it adds a green glow/hologram thing to it, but it still breaks and you lose the item when it does. They should have made the Master Sword weaker (they don't even show the damage it deals now for some reason, even with an item merged) and unbreakable, but let you merge items, the items having the durability instead. So you can use the sword forever with low damage, or merge an item to boost the damage or add an effect etc, but that merged item will break like a normal weapon.

There's just a lot of these things that if I was in charge I would have done differently, but Nintendo probably saw them as 'too much of a departure' from botw and their 'open air' philosophy.
