Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Thankfully they keep finding newer, easier item duplication methods so now I am swimming in jewels, rupees and charges. Which is fine because I wasn't looking forward to re-making all of the armor that I already maxed out in the last game.

Speaking of: where the fuck is my wardrobe? It is in ZELDA'S HOUSE? I have a few things to say about ZELDA'S HOUSE, too. :jaceknife:

easier item duplication
Until you launch yourself over the Lookout Landing wall trying to duplicate bomb flowers. 16 of those motherfuckers landing on the ground at the same time is better propulsion than the Zonai rockets.
I have a few things to say about ZELDA'S HOUSE, too.
I wanted to burn that shit down like Secret Window.

Selling ten diamonds all at once felt like such a "fuck you" to the game, considering I had only 66 rupees otherwise, about 50 of them from selling a strong food dish.

That's what you get for killing me a million times in the tutorial, fuckers!

I love the Gerudo women so much. "SAVA!"
Fuck u temparure change tho. And fuck you hives.
Idk why they had Riju cut her hair. I hate the Japanese trope that hair cutting makes you stronger. Like no.
just got to lightning temple
I'm not really pleased with how they have her use her power. You gotta wait for the lightning essence to merge with the ground until it goes over the enemy. Dumb.

Am I the only one who likes that thr sages all follow you around? Its cute. Idk.

Need weapon advice. Whats some good weapons to customize? Or better whats some great customization that isn't really known? Like I just found out 🍄 can make enemies bounce back.

A friend of mine is loving it but is a huge Zelda fag.
Funnily enough, among my friend circles one of the most critical people is a huge Zelda fag and I understand it because there's gotta be Zelda fans out there who think they're gonna be Paper Mario'd at this rate.

I love how the amibo items from breath of the wild can all be obtained from quests in the game now, and buying them back with poes is a nice feature as well they're quite powerful weapons especially fused with a silver lynel horn

I'm surprised I'm enjoying this game so much. I wasn't a huge fan of BotW. I think it's because the world feels a lot less empty than in the previous game. That said, I REALLY hope that they at least fix the dungeons if they're going to be sticking with the Breath of the Wild style. I've only done the one in the Gerudo desert so far (too busy exploring the maps to bother with the main quest), but I wasn't impressed.

The intended solution is to power the wheel with a metal plate that completes an electrical circuit on the floor to power the wheel spinning, and fusing 4 square plates to the wheel to act as a scoop, it won't actually scoop balls, you have to Ultrahand one in, but the scoop should dump at the top and the ball rolls into the bowl/hole.
It scooped a couple of balls up when I did it, no ultrahanding needed

didnt have enough stamina when i found Zelda, went back to the same area and waited over a day in game to not see her again zzz

Finished the game last night, 72h, 41% completion, the game is fucking massive.
Did all memories, got master sword, completed the towers, 40 shrines, most of the islands and more than half of the depths, including completing the Yiga quest.

All the Temples were shit, in some ways they were worse than the Divine Beasts. Having played OoT recently, the difference in quality is night and day. I think the design of having 4 to 5 disconnected puzzles really diminishes the quality of the Temples. Instead of having one interconnected dungeon to figure out, it's like 4 smaller disconnected sections. This makes the whole process easier, faster and simpler.
None of the shrines I did were good, some had better ideas than others, but all of them were too short and too easy to be enjoyable or memorable.

The sages as companions were a fun inclusion, but I found their implementation a mess, having to get close to them and interact with them in order to use their abilities is really clunky and unreliable. In BotW the champion's abilities were implemented perfectly into the gameplay, it's frustrating to see they mess-up something that was fine on the previous game. The bird and the Spirit Sage are the only ones that work well, though for as cool as it was, I found the spirit sage to be completely useless.

The last boss was great though. While Ganon's moveset is barely a step up from Phantom Ganon's, the gimmicks in the fight made it quite fun, probably as fun as the (mediocre) combat allows it to be. My only complaint is that the arena is quite boring, why not set it on a sky island looking down on Hyrule? Just like the previous game, they have a final phase that is more of a cut-scene than game. I don't know which was worse, the pig in BotW or this one, but they feel like an excuse for some good visuals and great music before the end

While I don't usually care for stories in Zelda, this one was so bad it's hard to ignore. Probably the worst plot in any Zelda I've played, it's both a repeat of OoT and BotW. The only new plot element in it is what happens to Zelda, which was just retarded.

I don't mind this new Zelda format, while I prefer the classic 3d format, this is clearly more popular, so no doubt they will continue with it for a couple of games. I just hope they actually attempt to change things in the next one. Not only the combat was completely unchanged, but the entire main quest structure as well.
I also hope that they release new 2d games in between these big 3d releases. Emphasis on new, I love Link's Awakening, it's my favorite 2D Zelda, but I fucking hate remakes.

That one was the 'best' unfortunately

Korok golfing with zonai rockets has been a lot of fun. I try to use the terrain to line up the shot, especially in hilly areas. Sometimes the little guy ends up in the water or at the bottom of a canyon, though.

I've been using the item duplication to upgrade key armor. Two times for special weatrher armor, but fully for defense armor. The Zonai armor is the most powerful set when maxed out that I have, with a total defense stat of 84. The gloom set is ok at 60, but it's good for going against gloom enemies.

Ganon's bow is good as it's power goes up the more heart you have, his swords give you gloom damage when you use them though. i have to test them with the full gloom armor though, or just use them in death constructs so i just don't get gloom damage

For what it is worth, I have noticed that despite the new item duplication tricks claiming to not remove items from your inventory, items can still vanish from your inventory while using the duplication glitch.

Would be nice if the game had a storage chest to isolate stuff you don't want to risk losing. I keep having topaz, sapphire and some monster parts vanish.

I built my house. I wanted to do a three or four story triangular monstrosity but I hit the 15 segment limit so settled for a squarish two story that had a shrine, kitchen, bed, stable, and the weapons and shields storage walls.

Ran out of money halfway through and didn't realize I could leave it half finished, but found i could duplicate some diamonds and sell them without halting construction. putting extra bits in storage is a pain though as you have to yeet them off the hill then say your done

im a bit annoyed that the memories weren't gated until after the 4 temples, kinda makes half of the objectives and dialogue seem irrelevant

The only thing that Tears of the Kingdom is missing is a shrine with a treasure chest hidden behind the place where you get your orb. I checked every time in Breath of the Wild and there wasn't one. But I still have a bunch more shrines to go in the new game and I am hopeful.

I believe.

I got the impression that once you got to the statues the puzzles were over. There is the technical exception of the raurus blessing shrine in the southwest at the gerudo sky labryneth
