I'm pretty sure that this was one of those things where they wanted to see with what they could get away with. Like how Paper Mario was dumbed down over the years, and people still brought them. Mario Party went from something you can spend an weekend playing towards something that's an lot more bite-sized...And then we got an entire game that only has minigames in it. Super Mario Maker is kind of justifiable, but it kind of killed their opportunity to create conventional Mario games.

As for the rest, I'm not exactly sure about Metroid or Kirby; but it kind of feels like the company has lost their edge for quite an while

I personally think we already had a Zelda game with a mature story and themes. The overarching themes of Majora's mask heavily revolved around death, trauma and how to cope with it. Sure, it still had the usual zelda whimsy too like singing frogs and the scantily clad pointy boob fairies but most of the game and the individual setpieces had a grim atmosphere to it.

I'm not sure if they could ever return to this style without the end product just copying Majora's mask again, though. The entire game itself feels like kind of a fluke that would be hard to properly replicate.

Disclaimer: Before we begin, I just want to say that I have no problem with Link and Tetra being together. I adore that pairing too. Same goes for Medli and Komali.

Of all the Zelda pairings I've seen, one that I've noticed that doesn't get enough love is Link x Medli. I can kind of understand why, considering that they're technically 2 different species, However let's go over what we have here, apart from the beak and wings, Medli is practically the same as any other human. We do not know for sure if Humans and Ritos can coexist or not but I personally think that they can. If you give Hotski 20 golden feathers to give to his girlfriend, his girlfriend actually writes you back with a piece of heart. In that letter his girlfriend writes that she's sort of a "bird enthusiast" and it's implied that she's actually human. If she IS human, then that must mean that humans and Rito's are compatible in some way.

There are also some things in the game itself that hint at a possible relationship between Link and Medli:

1) On the cover of the game, Medli is the ONLY person on the whole cover who is looking at Link.

2) In the original game, if you use the Tingle Tuner in Dragon Roost Cavern, after getting the Grappling Hook from Medli, Tingle will mention that it must mean that Link and Medli are getting closer.

3) When carrying Medli you can use the C-Stick to look up her skirt (even though she actually wears pants)

4) Once Ganon is defeated, both Medli and Makar don't need to pray for the Master Sword anymore. So Medli is free to be with Link

5) Most important. When Medli is playing her harp at the hill top, Link can actually offer to give her a Golden Feather, even though she respectfully declines because practicing is her first priority, just the fact that your able to do that must show that Link clearly has SOME feelings for her.

Even if they aren't compatible, Link and Medli can still be together. As long as they love each other that would be enough for them. They don't have to have sex to be happy together. (But if they ARE compatible, then Link can cum inside all he want's ;P)

Again, Link probably ended up with Tetra, but who can really know for sure what with all the shipping and what not. I'm just trying to get these "love birds"(get it?) a little more attention. ;)

Leaving that aside, we got new footage for TotK
we got names for Link's 4 new abilities that were previously teased:

Recall, which rewinds time for an object, like an opposite of stasis from the first game, and is shown with a rock that falls from the sky islands.

Fuse, which lets you combine multiple materials into your weapons, arrows and shield for different effects like increased damage and durability, to more unique stuff like sticking a keese eye into an arrow to add homing effect. This is definitely what those images of a sword with a toe nail sticking out from the leaked artbook were about.

Ultrahand, which lets you make the vehicles seen last trailer by sticking things together, and it's basically those contraptions people would do in the previous game with glitches.

And finally: ascend, which lets link no clip through most ceilings, as they mentioned there being limitations which weren't specified, but one of them will probably be a limit to how thick the ceiling has to be for Link to pop through it.

A new basic enemy called a construct was shown on the islands, didn't seem too interesting honestly, but we also got to see robot NPCs, but we didn't get any dialogue or interaction with them.

Besides that we got glimpses of stuff previously shown like the sky dragon, that weird cone structure in the islands and that new enemy that carries bokoblins around.
Personally i am excited for the game, but not as much as i was for BotW, and it's mostly because i want a new open world game to dick around and get lost on.

Yeah, it looks nice. The environment still has that cinematic feel to it. The only thing that's interesting is the reworked crafting system because, hey, they've actually paid attention to people complaining about not.having an infinite source of elemental arrows.

As it is, in addition to reusing stuff from Skyward Sword it still feels like an walking simulator with the violence turned up. Something feels off about this game, though

I'm honestly not that impressed with what they've shown so far. It just looks exactly like BOTW but with a couple new features. I hope to be proven wrong when the game releases but I'm kind of disappointed with this one.
